As a local i Barcelona, my favorite church its called Santa Maria del Mar. I love the geographic situation and reverence. Located in a beautiful area called la Ribera basílica gothic de Santa Maria del Mar. It still maintains the medieval structure of narrow streets, streets inhabited by textile industries.In the area closest to the sea, is the neighborhood of La Ribera, formerly Vilanova del Mar. Already in the 10th century there was an inhabited area near the beach around a church called Santa Maria de les Arenes (today, Santa Maria from sea).

Como local i Barcelona, mi iglesia favorita se llama Santa María del Mar. Me encanta la situación geográfica y la reverencia. Situado en una bella zona llamada la Ribera basílica gótica de Santa María del Mar. Mantiene aún la estructura medieval de calles estrechas, calles habitadas por industrias textiles.

En la zona más próxima al mar, se encuentra el barrio de La Ribera, anteriormente Vilanova del Mar. Ya en el siglo X había un área habitada cerca de la playa alrededor de una iglesia llamada Santa Maria de les Arenes (hoy, Santa María del mar).

Its the cities most stirring gothic structure, making beautiful contrast with the streets and the classic buildings of this beautiful neighbourhood. Located in Plaza de Santa Maria # 1 Its architect is Berenguer de Montagut and its construction started a 1329 and was finish in 1383. If you see it from the outside it has a robust aspect which is quiet a different of what we see inside, fine proportions, purity of line and sense of space. Its main sanctuary its simply beautiful for its almost perfect symmetry.

Es la estructura gótica más conmovedora de la ciudad, que contrasta hermosamente con las calles y los edificios clásicos de este hermoso barrio. Ubicado en la Plaza de Santa María # 1 Su arquitecto es Berenguer de Montagut y su construcción comenzó en 1329 y finalizó en 1383. Si lo ves desde el exterior tiene un aspecto robusto que es silencioso y diferente a lo que vemos adentro, bien proporciones, pureza de línea y sentido del espacio. Su santuario principal es simplemente hermoso por su simetría casi perfecta.

If you come in a trip and happen to be here then find the shop inside and maybe buy a souvenir. After visiting the church I recommend a good cappuccino in one of the many lovely and sunny terraces just outside the church so you can admire the view of the outside of the church and surely see a lots of people passing by. This piece of art, a most visit on your bucket list. ✅

Si vienes de viaje y estás aquí, busca la tienda y tal vez compres un recuerdo. Después de visitar la iglesia, recomiendo un buen capuchino en una de las muchas terrazas preciosas y soleadas, justo afuera de la iglesia para que pueda admirar la vista de la parte exterior de la iglesia y seguramente vea pasar a mucha gente. Esta obra de arte, una visita más en su lista de deseos. ✅
