Prevent circular caries

Circular caries is known as early childhood caries and "attacks" babies who just got their teeth. In the first you can see the white spots on your child's teeth. Then those spots are spreading and ruin the tooth. When white spots becomes black, then is too late to do anything. With my daughter I didn't have that problem. She got her first teeth when she was four months old. Everyone was telling me that she will have bad teeth because she got them too early, but that wasn't the case. Now she is 6 years old and she got almost all of new teeth. My son, however, has the circular caries. We have noticed those white spots when his first tooth came out but we didn't know anything about early childhood caries. They say that this kind of caries is mostly related with uses of bottle and sweet drinks. My son wasn't using a bottle, I was breast-feeding him. He don't like sweets and he got that circular caries. Now, we are trying to keep it under control and to prevent spreading. He is little but he is aware of what is happening with his teeth. I explained him that he must wash his teeth and explained him why. He accepted well and I hope that we will prevent bigger problems.

Is it possible to prevent circular caries, I can't tell. Maybe if we reacted when we first saw those white spots, but I don't think we could do something. First teeth are weak and dentists mostly don't want to traumatize the child with fixing them. But it is important to tell that you can keep the circular caries under control with regular teeth washing.
