The lotus flower is an aquatic plant native to Asia and has a great symbolism in different religions and cultures. The color of the flower can vary but the most common colors are white, pink, red and purple and can measure between 10 and 30 centimeters in diameter.
The lotus flower has great significance in the Buddhist and Hindu religions.
For Buddhists this plant represents the purity of the soul, since this flower normally grows in water with a lot of sedimentation and emerges completely clean, for this reason it is common the representation of Buddha sitting on a white lotus flower.
In the Hindu religion the flower is associated with beauty, fertility and prosperity. In this religion we can also see the representation of the goddess of prosperity, Laxmi, sitting on a lotus flower.
