Personally I have little faith in ANY cryptocurrency for anything but a useful short-term money transfer vehicle. My only exception (since I am writing this here) is STEEM, of course! I am not here primarily to make money. I joined only to publish and interact in this time of infowar. A side benefit is the potential of getting paid for this time - and using those earnings for the benefit of family, friends & community. As far as "defensive" investments go, however, I recommend Goldmoney for monthly gold purchases - convertible to a pre-paid debit card (if you like) or storage until you request physical delivery. Money Metals has a monthly regular purchase plan of any amount & date you can set up as well. They ship your physical every three months. Remember, when the SHTF, the ONLY money you may have is that what you HOLD!
