Some time ago, he became very popular with analysts, mercilessly exploiting him to search for vulnerabilities and bugs on Internet resources. All this became possible thanks to special operators, which any person can use, whether he is an ordinary user, a researcher or a hacker.
The history of the use of special operators, in fact, is much older than its first appearance on the pages of the yellow press. The "Old Guard" of web developers is familiar with them for the simple reason that, during the development of the Internet, the desire to develop a website was far greater than the knowledge of programmers in concepts and approaches to security. Thus, all programmers made the same mistakes, over time, Internet researchers and various experts in their fields began to collect and systematize such information, it turned out that most of the vulnerabilities are similar and perfectly accessible to search on Google. From that moment on, open databases like Google Hacking Database began to appear, just select the vulnerability, read the description and make "Google It!".
Operator "AND" - The usual query in Google "How to buy flowers" is actually perceived by the search engine as "HOW TO BUY AND FLOWERS", this means that the space is replaced by a logical "AND", after which each word is searched separately,
Operator "OR" - However, sometimes we need to look at sites that contain one or another word. For example, the query "how to buy flowers OR cat" will show us the sites that contain information about either buying flowers or buying a cat. Very useful in the hands of a professional;)
The operator "+" - Using an ordinary blank does not guarantee a mandatory search by keyword, sometimes the search engine can ignore "how to buy flowers cheaply" and show just those pages that contain information about buying flowers. Nevertheless, in this case, the keyword is cheap, since we are interested in the cheap purchase of flowers, and not the nearest location of the flower shop. To do this, we use the following query: "how to buy flowers + cheap", now, all pages that do not contain the words "cheap" will be discarded.
Operator "-" - On the contrary, from time to time we may need to exclude some words from the issue after the search query: "how to buy cheap-lily flowers".
Operator "" (just inverted commas) - Sometimes Google might think that one of our keywords in the query is not correct, and sometimes we just need to find some exact phrase (for example, a quote), for these purposes, you just use quotes "how did I lose a million" or who is "meow'llion"
Operator "*" - This operator tells the search engine that the query omits the word. Note that it is very often useful to use it only with double quotes, otherwise Google will simply use the default "AND" operator, that is, look for words separately: "how * earned a million" -th.
The operator ".." - Two points are used when searching for numeric values. Searching ranges between numbers "from - to". For example, "the year of foundation 2001..2012"
The "filetype:" and "ext:" operators The "filetype:" - operator searches for files of the specified type, for example, "programming filetype: pdf". It will most likely show books on programming.
Sometimes, the file type and its extension may not match. How is this possible? Take any picture and change its extension from .jpg (for example) to .zip, the first normal archiver will not try to open this file, but will search for a special mark in the binary code of the file and when it does not find it, it will not spend precious resources for the debriefing, and quickly give an error. On the Internet, such a label does not exist, it is replaced by a special title from the browser, however, this is a completely different story. So, use this query for a more accurate search: "programming filetype: pdf OR ext: pdf".
The "site:" operator - Everything is quite simple, the search engine will search for the specified information on a specific site, for example, "buy flowers + moscow site: vk.com"
