After 2 months on Steemit, I am drastically reducing my posting frequency

in #blog7 years ago

In my last post, I announced that I would be thinking about my future Steemit strategy, and here are my decisions:

I will indeed drastically reduce my posting frequency. This is for a couple of reasons:

  • I want to have more time to actually read the posts others have made!
  • To be completely honest, I want to try out the strategy of “building an audience first, and delivering content later”. This also means more time interacting with others and thus less time for writing.
  • I still am impressed by the unexpected success my experimental longer, in-depth article about an aspect of Swiss culture / history had. In fact, this single article has yielded a higher payout than all of my previous photo posts combined! It is only logical that I want to now gain more experience with these longer posts. Which, again, means less time to get my usual photo posts out.
  • Finally, there is a certain sports-related global event ⚽️ happening over the next few weeks which will further reduce the time I have at my disposal for other things…

Again, I am learning here as I go. These are temporary measurements I want to try out for about a month or so, and see how it goes.

To sum this up:

  • For at least about the next four weeks:
  • only one or two photo posts per week,
  • possibly up to one in-depth (Switzerland-themed) article per week
  • but hopefully more interaction with the Steemit community.

As always, I will report back after approximately a month about how this ongoing Steemit experiment of mine goes.

In the meantime, thank you for your continuous support!

same strategy of mine!

Thank you, that's quite assuring to hear!

Although I think in your case it's without the ⚽️ part 😉

Keep it up! you can invest your time into curation, I don't know much about it but it's one of the ways to work on Steemit.

The more detailed, properly sourced and interesting the posts; the more you'll attract attention of big wales, like Curie. It's just a matter of trying, don't worry if you fail. Hey! I'll be here to read anyway.

If you want to connect with people, then I'd like to invite you to the Steemit Travellers channel on Discord, we are always there chatting about various subjects.

You are too kind 😀

So you mean: even more time chatting, and even less time for posting? I'll have to think about that 😉 Sorry, just kidding. I will really think about joining the chat as part of my "strategy" to connect more with fellow Steemians. Probably after the world cup though... 🙂

Sure, you'll hear from many people "community is key!" and I can assure that. By my guest there whenever you want, I'll be glad to chat and disturb your work hahahahahaa
