I don't know whose daughter she was.... but when that girl came of age, she began to have a lot of servants.
There came an elegant woman out of nowhere and said to those servants of the house , "I would like to work as a servant here." and then..
They said, "Fortunately, we hear that our masters are looking for a woman jus like you! Please come with us! We'll talk to the madam about you." And thanks to them, she began to stay at the house.
Needless to say, the work of that woman impressed the madam. She was good at drawing and flower arrangements. And her handwriting was beautiful.
Actually she was able to sew as good as any professional.
Even Tatsutahime- a Goddess who dye autumn leaves beautiful- must have felt ashamed when she saw how good the woman
was at dying clothing.
But one day...... when it was very dark at night with almost no light, the madam peeked into the woman's room.
What the madam saw was that ... the woman took off her own head and put it on her vanity table(dressing table). Then she began to dye her teeth black, put on make-up and put on her head back again.
≪This is what I thought. At first I thought the was a good way to put on make-up but soon I realized.. How could she do that? She could not see her face because the head was on the vanity table!!!≫
That was the most horrible scene the madam had ever seen.
When the madam told her husband what had happened and asked what they should do, he said, "Tell her very carefully that we no longer need her work."
So the madam talked to the woman and said, "I don't mean to be rude, but now there are so many servants here that my husband said we had to ask a few of them leave here. Of course I would like you to stay here for ever, but all my servants have served me for a long time, so we cannot make them leave here. So please leave. Besides, I cannot disobey my husband. But when my daughter gets married, we would like you to come back."
Then...... she suddenly changed color and said, "Perhaps you said so because you have seen something odd" and came close to the madam.
"What are you talking about? We will call you back soon!", she said frightened .
But the woman said, "You are treating me badly." and suddenly attacked the madam.
Just right then her husband- he must have known what could happen- took out his sword and cut her.

The woman weakened, but again he cut her with all his might. Then she turned into an horned old cat with her mouth torn to her ears.
As long as I know, she said her name was Tatsutahime.
