About my curation - who am I supporting and why?

in #blog6 years ago

Haven't made a post for half a year, lol...

Anyways, since the emergence of @steem-ua, as well as the news about HF20, and realizing the awesome potential (and essentially awesome ROI) of @smartsteem, I decided to return.

Given the nature of how I use this platform, I make several autovotes - I know some of you don't like it, but still a better way of utilizing my active Steem Power than, well, doing nothing.

I love feeling empowered on a place like this. It's a mesmerising feel, and combined with the fact that I can influence the "income" of people, as well as helping to decide, what is good content...well, I'm beyond words.

Long story short, I decided to make a post to explain it (mostly done), and list some of my favourite content creators, with an explanation on why I vote on them.

If you feel like I make good decisions, I may start a series of posts about additional good content creators I find during the days I spend on Steem.

My Steemvoter account allows automating voteing on only 10 people, given my current SP, and I allocate the majority of it on artists - namely @makowrites (the first one posting on #worldbuilding for a very long time, kudos!), @la-fumettista, @bryan-imhoff, @drwatson (both make excellent quality comics and drawings constantly) and @winry (for who I mean it mostly as an inspiration to engage more).

Manually supported, on a different theme: @joeohs - him doing Rimworld means a lot for me. And on the gaming side, on occasion, I spare some votes for @triverse, considering the significant effort on his posts and because I love retro gaming, as well as
@gamersclassified who, again, engages with the ecosystem a lot.

Nowadays, I try finding and rewarding game developers, too, because I know how awesome it would feel to earn with it. @brightredskies, @ajayyy and of course, don't forget @steemgg!

And finally, some great projects and people that speak for themselves: the aforementioned steem-ua and smartsteem, @paulag's godlike analysises, @holger80 with his curation league, @trufflepig's machine learning-driven curaton program, @steempeak as an awesome frontend alternative, more stats from @boddhistats, the @steemsnake dApp, the gamedev AND analyst @miniature-tiger, and @onepiece as a beginner but enthusiastic programmer with his tutorials.

To be fair, I don't think this post will go far, and manual curation is extremely time-consuming anyways, but if you think I made choices well (I tried focusing on accs with
relatively small SP), then I'd gladly continue my journey in curation and post my findings.

Thanks for reading.

I hate that mentions in posts don't tag the person mentioned in some way. I would have completely missed this if it weren't for the fact that you engaged with my content and I got curious about yours, so a huge thank you for the support. It's a thrilling and encouraging thing to be reminded that people like your content, especially writing, in a world where there's a lot of it competing for your attention.

I'd upvote you if I wasn't waiting on my voting power to recharge.

Cheers,

~ Mako

you can check your mentions on steemworld.org/@makowrites

Thanks, that's a helpful tip!

You're welcome! I'm not a super engaging person actually but once in s while it's definitely worth to spend some time with those I intend to support.

I guess it was a huge surprise "meeting" this way ;)

As for the upvote, feel free to do in a way it's the most comfortable for you. I'm not doing it for demaning rewards - if I'm doing it well, curation rewards skyrocket anyways ;)

wow thank you very much for the support. curation is not easy and it is very time consuming so from every author here on steemit, thank you !

Yeah, waiting for VP to load doesn't help either. But once in a while, I can really enjoy doing it.
