Hi Jhayson here.., and today I will share my thoughts about Fear.
Have you ever wonder why do we have fear? Or why do we afraid of something? Sometimes we feel terrified on something that’s not even there in the first place. Those questions pop-up in my head and I did a quick research about it.
Okay, let’s start with the Fear itself. According to the "effective-mind-control.com", fear is an evolutionary survival mechanism. I agree with that. In our primitive era, fear helps our human ancestors to survive in the harsh environment by telling them what is dangerous and what is not. The brain signals the body to run away when there is danger like if they saw a venomous snake or they saw hungry predators in their way. Fear is our main defense response mechanism during that time that makes our species survive. Our brain is being bombarded by chemical reactions in a short period of time when we are caught between life and death situation, thus we become attentive and alert and our brain releases Dopamine (a chemical which is also part of our brain reward system) to help us recognize the danger and decide whether we escape, freeze, or fight.
Now let’s talk about more specific and tackle this Oldest and Strongest Fear.
What is fear of unknown? Obviously, the word itself explained it. It is the fear of what you don’t know, for example; some people are scared of the woods because they are not familiar with it thus keeping them safe from being lost. But don’t worry if you feel that way because I think that is normal, it is embedded in our genes to respond that way. So it is safe to say that fear of unknown is always good for us..., Or NOT. Although fear of unknown is quite useful, sometimes this fear also hold back us to be better. Many people fall in this category and live their lives in the box, never trying to get out of there comfort zone. Why? Because they let fear of unknown controls their action.
My opinion on this matter is that fear of unknown has claimed many innocent lives because even if they are still alive and breathing, they live a life that is full of regrets. Regrets from doing what they want, regrets from not chasing their dreams, and regrets of expressing their true self. People can’t enjoy life to the fullest if they always let fear dictates their action.

Face your fear. Easier said than done. But still, I agree with you in never allow your fear to result regret.
