Hi Steemians
Once in a while I go out with friends. Have Tunisian traditional food and do some shopping. It is very cold here, but a bit sunny these days. My friend came here for some days, so I decided to spend the day with her and visit her family.
We had Lablabi in a local restaurant. It is a very popular winter Tunisian dish based on Chickpeas, broth, and baguette. Served with Tuna fish, egg, chili paste and olive oil on the top. It is very tasty and all people love it. Unfortunately they dont sell it in the hot seasons.
We visited the market located in the Medina of Tunis. It was build in the 13th century and still used as the main market in the city. We find many things thee that are not very common in any other places in the city. We spent couple of hours there and bought many things such as wool, herbal teas and pottery.
I love perfume and feel weak when I pass through the market of perfumers "Souk el Attarin". It Is the oldest market in Tunis where you find all types of perfumes and can choose the right fragrance for you.
They have many nice and colorful perfume bottles in different sizes. Some weeks ago I bought one and shared it with you if you remember :)
I visit the market at least twice a month. A very good atmosphere and a lot of colors. Different Hammam towels and nice soaps. Even everyone has a nice bathroom now a days, the ritual and tradition of Hammam have remained the same. If you dont know what is Hammem! It is traditional bathing and cleansing ritual, similar to the modern Sauna or spa.
Different handicraft and local products made of olive wood, clay, glass and copper.
The market was full of life and we could buy many things at very good prices. After couple of hours walking and looking around, we felt exhausted and decided to have a coffee then go home.
Love the old ways.
They stay always special :)
Beautiful photography and a very well briefed post......
Keep up the god work
Thank you, I am glad you liked it :)

NIce, looks like a stimulating place! So many colors and shapes, patterns and textures. Inspiring for an artist. I'm sure the smells of the perfumes and food vendors must also be intense. Made me think of this song by a Canadian band The Tea Party called "The Bazar"
Thats true it is very colorful there and what I shared is maybe 15% of what is there. I love the song and the music is very nice :)
Life's good enjoy it while you still on earth
