Adapting to Space and Becoming Less fearful of It

in #blog6 years ago

With the advancement of technology, we tend to spend our whole day filling all available spaces in our lives, replying messages, surfing the internet, watching videos and movies, always filling it with more and more tasks.

We all have that morbid fear of empty spaces in our lives. This has now resulted in a very continuous business, or a very constant distraction and evasion, dissatisfaction and as well as inability to focus in our lives.
We often run away from silence. We run away from the spaces that comes in between tasks and appointments. We run away from solitude and quietness. We try to cram every second doing activities, maybe something useful, as if having space and silence ain't valuable.

But what are we really afraid of?
What are we going to become if we don't experience such fear at all?

We are scared of space and loneliness as well as silence as it shows us the insecurity, unsteadiness, fragile, and instability that lies at the bottom in every second of our lives. We all have this fear of facing this insecurity and uncertainty, of having to feel the fear. In the absence of this fear of all the insecurity instilled by space……. We become free.

I know in my daily life that anytime I let myself have silence, solitude, space or steadiness…… it gives me room to face whatever that's coming for me. It gives me the chance to experience fully all the feelings I've been evading. It gives me the chance to be more honest with myself without the use of unnecessary distractions and being busy to hide what i don't want to face.

Finally in the end, I get to realize that there is nothing scary about space but it should be something that should be valued.

We should try allowing and treasuring more space in our daily lives.
Take some time within tasks for peace and stillness.
Take a seat in nature, in silence, with no technology.
If you notice the urge to pick your phone, Pause. Take a look and see if you can be just still, savour a lot of space.

If at any point in time, you feel the instability and unsteadiness of your life, allow yourself to feel it and experience it. Understand it and be present with it. No need for avoidance or running.
When you feel fear, have an open heart and feel it, accept it and become friendly with it. Your relationship with fear will be better if you become friendly with it.

When you’re driving, walking, resting, or exercising …try and see if you manage doing this things in silence, without the use of technology, without the urge to do something “useful.” Search for the value in these spaces you get.
Take a look at who you are without the fear of space.
Enjoy these spaces, their deliciousness. Enjoy the unsteadiness as a thing filled with freedom if we adapt to the fear of it.
Be present with the fear and instability, as best friends not as enemies.

Allow your heart be open, raw, free and vulnerable, and your mind accepting and embracing the spaciousness of the vast blue sky of open awareness.
