An unusual sound was heard in the Pacific Ocean in 1989.
The United States has dedicated hydrophones to various regions of the ocean. To hear the voice of Soviet submarines. But after the cold war ended, these microphones were now being used by scientists.
The voices coming from the depths of the ocean, like another planet in our planet, were hearing what came from the whales.
The voice heard in 1989 was detected by these microphones. But this time the enroller felt that there was a difference. After making the technical measurements, this difference is defined. The sound frequency was 52 Hertz. Whales, however, make noise in the range of 15-25 Hertz.
In the measurements made in the following years, the same sound was heard and recorded many times, and it was understood that this sound comes from a single source. From a single whale. Probably a fin whale or a blue whale.
Maybe the mix of the two is a hybrid kind. Scientists gave him the name "52 Blue" because of the frequency of the sound that they were extracting was 52 Hertz. Some said it was "the lonely whale of the world" because there was no other whale that made this frequency sound.
Can a whale make a sound? Leave the sound, they can even sing. Leave the sing, they can even make an album.
"Humpback Whale Songs" were recorded in 1970 with a special technique by the bio-acoustician Roger Payne. Because the 15-25 Hertz range is at the lowest limit that the human ear can hear hardly. It sold more than 100,000 albums and ranked # 1 on the list of most popular animal music albums of all time.(There is not such a music list but it would have settled :)
Many artists were influenced by these voices and used them in their own songs. Carl Sagan added them to the records of the "Voices of the World" and sent them to space with Voyager tools.
Of course, whales do not sing these songs just for popularity. They make these voices to determine their direction, to find food, to communicate with each other. The most important thing is to find a wife for them. They sing to their wives. Is not it so romantic? When you give that information, can you think of it the same way?The sound of male blue whales is so strong that their voices are of 180 decibels. This is the intensity of your voice, which you will feel detonated five meters behind your pound of dynamite.
Therefore, the world's largest animals are the loudest animals of the world at the same time. In this way, even from 1100 km away from the ocean, these sounds can be heard.
There is no one who can see him until today.But the sounds he makes are very consistent. There is no oddity in your movements. Like other blue whales, he travels 30 to 70 kilometers a day, followed by migration routes from Alaska to Mexico. The researchers have published a scientific report since they tracked their voices for exactly 12 years.
The report also says;
"We could not hear any other calls with similar characteristics. Only one voice at a time. A call at 52 Hertz. If there was any answer call that conflicted with it, it never happened. "
In the big ocean, alone, a lonely whale. The others cannot hear its voice. Has there been a feeling of hugging him somewhere? Do you know why? You see yourself in it. We are alone too. Sometimes it's like feeling someone you do not understand, is not it? Maybe nobody can hear you. In fact, indeed, no one in this world can fully understand what it means to be you.No one can perceive this world exactly in your eyes.We go out singing songs from within to find out who will understand us. And finally one day we'll die alone.
The world's most lonely creation 52 Blue or are we?
