I was born during WWII and lived during shortages of food, clothing and everything else you can think of. We all had ration books and were limited to so much per person per week. Very often a shortage of basic items caused huge queues and made black market spivs very rich. A humorous version of life in the UK then is in the BBC comedy 'Dad's Army'.😃
Mr Chad appeared in a lot of graffiti generally to complain about shortages and usually took the form of 'Wot, no sugar?' or 'Wot, no stockings?' and so on. One of the gliders used in the D-Day invasion had a Mr Chad with 'Wot, no engine?' written on it. So many people and organisations claim to have invented 'Mr Chad' that his creation is lost in mystery.
I decided to resurrect Mr Chad to help me put a picture on a post that could suit any purpose and would have a possibly humorous catch phrase, or not.😃
I made my Mr Chad with Microsoft Image Composer software. It is about 22 years old and was given free with Microsoft FrontPage. It still works with Windows 10 (64bit only). The background sky is from a picture I took in Hawaii some years ago, the rest is Image Composer and there are about 20 layers.😃
