Here you can see pictures of different slags which is also known in metallurgy as a product of ore smelting processes and was not created in a natural way and is created as a residue in the extraction of different ores. The creation can be attributed to chemical processes of salty solutions and after extraction it is processed and the results are used in numerous areas and the best-known areas of application are in the agriculture, metal or cement industry and has the advantage that other and more valuable materials can be saved and since slag occurs in large quantities, there are no problems when it comes to procurement. It already has a long history behind it and also the old alchemists were very interested in it and it appears in numerous old writings as well as works of art and there were experiments where it was about converting slag into other metals such as gold, silver or other valuable metals or using it for research. A large market has developed which revolves around processing slags and extracting precious metals from them and it can be very lucrative to profit from an additionally created product and different methods has been developed to facilitate the extraction. In research, it is very interesting because of the chemical composition and often unknown minerals are found in slags and it is roughly distinguished from different kinds and there are crystalline and glassy manifestations. Again and again there are different views where slags should be categorized and by some it is also referred to as a form of minerals and there are also other meanings and also residues of burns or volcanic activities are often referred to as slags.
