TV SHOW REVIEW // F Is For Family

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

F Is For Family is a cartoon sitcom show set in the 1970's. It follows Frank Murphy and his dysfunctional American family. A Korean war veteran who now works as a supervisor at an airport, and can't control his temper when it comes to his 3 children. He has an ambitious wife, a tom-boy daughter, a shy younger son and a slacker stoner older son, who all in there own way, drives him a little crazy. It is a Netflix original and aire for the first time on December 18, 2015. It just recently released its second season on May 30 and is scheduled for a third next year.

It includes an awesome amount of comedic actors that put a lot of personality into each of there characters. Including names such as:
Bill Burr
Laura Dern
Justin Long
Debi Derryberry
Sam Rockwell
Haley Reinhart
Mo Collins
& David Koechner

I'm usually a bit iffy when it comes to watching new cartoons that are made for adults, because sometimes you really wonder what else there is to do that Family Guy, Simpsons, American Dad and South Park hasn't done already. But, in my opinion, this one definitely holds its own. Comedian and voice of Frank Murphy, Bill Burr was more than a perfect choice to give the part to. Burr's temper and ability to make Frank go fucking nuts is one of the funniest things about the show. While he may repeat his joke of throwing his kids through a fucking wall in more than a few episodes, it can be pretty funny at times.

My favorite character of the show is Kevin, the slacker stoner son voiced by Justin Long. Justin Long executes this character perfectly. It's more than believable which makes it that much more hilarious. The moments when he yells loudly are some of the funniest. Another thing I liked about this show is its opening theme song scene. The song "Come And Get Your Love" by Redbone plays as a young Frank Murphy flies through the sky, free of any responsibility. But as he gets a little too happy, he gets slapped with a draft notice, then baby toys and clothes start floating all around him and his gut gets a little bigger. It's awesome imagery, without a doubt. I give this show a 5/5. The second season was even better than the first and I can't wait to watch the third!
