For those of you who have not gotten the memo, I have finally achieved a year long goal-- I got my brother on steemit, woot! Yeah! He actually made the account some months ago, but finally put up an introductory post and I am a very, very proud big sister!
One of the sweetest, kindest, most intelligent, and super talented individuals I have ever known-- and that is just me trying to sum up what I could very easily write a book about. I am so blessed to call him- next to hubby of course- my closest friend in all the world.
And now he is here, @ed-the-songster, to grace this platform with more than just his music- his awesome presence, personality and beautiful nature!
I didn't accomplish this alone though, a huge thanks goes out to my fantastic friends who joined the crusade to Bring Ed Here- @jedau, @therealpaul, @meesterboom, @tonyr, @kiwideb, @sift666, @son-of-satire- you can check out their efforts inside my bro's wallet. Thanks so much you guys! I looove you Linnet! And I'm getting all choked up here. What a beautiful thing to say. I am so grateful to have you in my life. Thanks for believing in me from the beginning. You are the most supportive person to my music, and through and through the best a sibling there could be. And you also have such an amazing talent in writing, and you have an amazing talent with people. Look at all these folks who are vibing off of your art and beautiful personality. You are a shining beacon- and now that I see it in this steemit world, I'm more proud of you than ever.
Good job, Ed. You're a lucky man to have such a supportive sister and apparantly a kickin' place to do your thing. Me and my friend used to do open mic nights in San Diego and even full shows acoustically but often especially in one particular venue over by SDSU (no longer in business) we never got people to get out of their own little hookah smoking world to interact with us or even applause. Oops, I promised myself I wouldn't be bitter... Keep playing and having fun!
I am very lucky man indeed. And yeah, it's sometimes hard to get people to react. Believe you me, I play some venues with large applauses and an energetic audiences, and sometimes i play places that don't even seem to notice me there. I try not to let those places get me down, and I also try not to revisit them, even if the price is right.
This is great. I see that Ed is standing beneath the Burger Challenge Winners sign, does this mean that in addition to being a kickass musician he is also a winner of burger challenges?
Haha thanks - but, nope, I can barely finish one regular burger at that place, they are huge!
