Celebrating a milestone! Thank you everyone!! You guys are the best!!!

Over a week ago, a friend of mine which I haven’t spoken to in nearly 5 years had sent me a message reminding me of one fundamental fact that we often overlook. That little acts of kindness could make a difference.

Hi David!

The year was 2013/14 and I was asked to represent Xavier Philharmonia for a university-wide Student Leader event in Bukidnon. Can't remember much of the details but we became members of the same group I believe I didn't "belong" in.. Let's just say people were too outgoing/loud and it overwhelmed me haha. After the event, I was mindlessly going through the palanca messages we got (glad that it was finally over lol), until a particular card got my attention -- it came from you. We never interacted that much but you left me an impression that I have to this day. You noticed these things and you understood where I was coming from. I don't even remember the exact words anymore but in a way it empowered me -- it reassured me that to "not belong" is okay… and to NOT conform to the majority if it compromises your values is something to aspire.

Since then, I always go back to this experience whenever I'm faced with the same kind of situation. For this I'm grateful 😊

I scrolled upon this post you made today and thought the timing couldn't be more perfect. Took me this long to thank you haha sorry 😅😅. Hope you keep making positive impact in people's lives, no matter how tiny it may seem to you (or anyone) at first glance. So thank you again 😌

This greatly reminded me of gratitude and how we won’t go far without those who support us so now in turn I am reminded to say thank you to everyone here on steemit. In the last three months I had built a community of 363 awesome steemians and I am greatful to each and every one of you for following my stories and adventures.

In the last three months I had traveled around writing down my adventures and sharing them with this awesome community. I had dedicated myself to keep writing, improving and creating quality content which sometimes if I’m lucky and the conditions are just right hard work pays off.

Being curied is one of the greatest honours one can attain on steemit. Being curied means you have created content worth sharing. Being curied not only once but three times in three months tell me one thing, that the work I put into each article is worth it. That I am on the right track and on the way to building a community of wanderers, travellers and story tellers.

To give back to this awesome community I have decided to host a travel blog contest giving away 10SBD. A small thank you compared to the massive support this community has given to me. The Adventure Initiative, an initiative to encourage more people to go out there and see the world and create stories of your own. Maybe through this initiative we can have more people creating content and living out stories that they will tell for years on out.

363 followers may not be as much compared to a lot of other steemians have achieved in the same amount of time but, I consider this a great milestone in this journey. I will not go far without a few special people who have helped me along the way.

@adevaesparrago, not only is she one of my oldest and best friends, she is also my "steem mother" if you may call it she introduced me to this platform and I will forever be grateful that she got me into the platform.

@Steemph.cebu and its core leaders lead by the amazing @jassennessaj. This cebu based steemit community has been amazing. I have only joined one meet up and I have met some amazing people who have been amazingly supportive. @pizzanniza, @josejirafa, @ybanezkim26, @thegaillery, @iwanderela, @wanderingdanish to name a few, and many more.

To everyone who has helped me reach this milestone, thank you! I appreciate each and every one of you! Sometimes writing gets tedious and finding balance between work, travel, making art and writing seems impossible, yet I will continue to chase stories, create art, go on adventures and continue my crusade for quality content.

For the mean time given my nearly weekly travels I am trying to post an article every Friday to Sunday of the week depending on how fast I can write and process photos. A few photo sets that usually don’t make it to the article or I might just not have a lot to say about the photos, which I try to post Monday to Thursdays, a few days before posting the weekly article just to keep the account active.( If you have instagram you can follow me on @daviiid_alfaro for more photography. ) I try to read, upvote and comment on as many articles as I can within the day, so please if you have articles you want to share, link them in the comments, I’d love to support you just as you have supported me!
