•I believe everything that happens in your life happens for a reason, it teaches you a lesson. It's interesting but people tend to learn more often on their own mistakes rather than on the others.
I'm sure at least once in your life you had a bad life event happened to you that you wish never happened. I was silly enough to put myself in danger before.
Let me be honest, the country where I am from is not considered to be the safest one in the world.Going out on your own or walking down the street after 10-11 pm is not the best idea that can come to your mind...
Here it goes:
8 years ago my cousin and I were visiting my aunt who lived one block away from the building where I used to rent my room while studying in university. It was around 12 am when we decided to go back home after a traditional tea drinking and talking about different stuff. Our cousin Diaz, my aunt's son offered to walk us home safely but we refused coz we thought it was super close and we were two people so there was no need for that.
The tunnel:
We were walking through the residential building towards home, we walked in the small tunnel, as we were walking through I could hear my high heels click-clack click-clack down the tunnel and I thought: it wouldn't be nice if a robber could hear me walk here...
A lesson:
We walked out from the tunnel and noticed a black shadow standing 3 meters away. There he was - my great lesson. We froze, he suddenly came running towards us..My stomach dropped, that was the only time in my whole life when I ever experienced this feeling of fear that you can't even describe. I couldn't believe it was happening to me, you usually think bad stuff happens to other people but not to you...
The bag 💼:
So he started taking away our bags that we had on us, we started screaming and fighting him.Everything happened super fast I don't remember much, but the weirdest thing was that this guy didn't make any noise during all this time,I never heard his voice and didn't see his face.Analyzing the situation now, I realize how dangerous and stupid of us it was to fight with the criminal for the bags!He could have a knife or any other weapon and kill us, we were lucky enough that nothing major happened to us. Never ever try to fight the one who attacks you for your valuables, just give it away. It's not worth it!
So he got to take my cousin's bag and ran away and we ran away from there as well.We were running and crying. It all happened just 300 meters away from my place. We finally got inside the building and stopped to catch a breath. My cousin looked at me and said I have a blood on my face. He hit me quite hard several times, but it wasn't that bad.I asked my cousin what was in her bag?She answered through crying that there was a shampoo and a shower gel she bought that day.I told her: "Well, now he can shower his ass off with that!😂Loser!" We started hysterically laughing. All the fuss for a shampoo and a shower gel.I guess he also got a lesson to not rob poor students on the streets 😂😂😂😂I even feel kinda sorry for him..imagine his face when he opened the bag🤣👏
Better safe than sorry:
Jokes aside, this incident really taught me a great lesson - to never walk alone at night no matter what, because it's always better safe than sorry! Now, if I ever have to go back home alone from a bar or anywhere else I always take a taxi and ask the driver to get me right to the porch.
Have you ever had any experiences like that?
a great lesson :S
Yeah,next time I'll be smarter;)
We have a saying that the mom of the guy who run away never cried.
What does it mean?
If you run away , most probably you won't get hurt and this means your mom will not cry .
Hahaha I see
I have been in a lot of fights and i have seen very bad and dark things. I come from poor and horible neighborhood thank good i got out from there. You need to know how to protect yourself i believe for women best way is pepper spray go and buy the most nastiest one and always keep it with you. But before you do that see some self protection videos to know how corectly use it ! Thats my advice. I upvote and follow hope you will follov me back
Pepper spray is a good idea, and to learn the famous nut cracker kick !
Pepper spray is not bad at all, but studies showed, that more than %70 women who used it, couldn't use it the right way and injured themselves. My advice especially to women and/or weaker/lighter people, including children, is to learn Kyusho or Kyusho-Jitsu. I believe, if studied correctly, it's the most benefitial and powerful way for self-defense. Unfortunately we live in an age of crime and insecurity, so the more you do to be able to protect yourself the better for you.
If I find this kind of class I will get my wife to enroll, I am just scared that one day when she gets angry with me she will use it against me and kick my ass ! :)
@dandesign86 LOL! Not likely! She'd consider her yen for becoming a mom!
Peace.
Here good point
✌
There is only one way to prevent this:) You have to take classes together:)
😂 yes exactly
Hehe 😂
Good to hear you got out from there, it's not nice to live in such neighborhoods.Yeah, I should know how to protect myself and have something like pepper spray on me always, you are right!
Some regard pepper spray more of a threat. If the guy gets sprayed, and grabs hold of the victim, he oftentimes takes out his anger for the retaliation with added violence.
By God's Grace this was your one-time event with lesson learned to share with all who'll hear.
Thanks for your post!
Btw, lovely handbag...
Peace.
That's freaky! At least nothing much got taken. And now at least now your assailant can have luscious locks and shower fresh clean skin! Maybe that's just what he was after the whole time? 😉😉😉
This one time I was visiting Berlin, and riding my rented road bike through Gorlitzer(sp?) park, I saw a guy ahead of me, two guys to be actually, but I didn't get a good look at the guy sitting because... yeah this guy was really pissed off, screaming and yelling, and in a language I couldn't understand like he was PISSED OFF.. I probably should have turned back. As I neared the two, I made the mistake of making eye contact with me and he started to sprint at and chase me while screaming like he was going to kill me or something! I was lie... oh... hell... NO... and pedalled so fucking hard... it was too much I had no clue what this guys deal was and he wasn't a small dude either and for a moment, he was within an arms reach. I'm so lucky I was on a road bike and in the right gear for that because otherwise... I dunno - some crazy bath salts shit or something would have went down! I didn't know what else to think. After he realized he's not going to catch a person on a bike he stopped and I stopped, a short distance away, I felt like screaming at him... sort of like "what the fuck, dude?" but then thought... eh... just let it go... just move on. Not something you want to involve yourself with more... And I'm so lucky that I did! Because I realize that I was sort of backed into a place where biking out wasn't going to happen - to leave I had to sort of tuck my bike under a handrail and had I egged that guy on he would have cornered me there and yea... I couldn't figure out if he wanted my bike or just to hurt me? Or a combination of both? I wish I had my gopro at the time it would have made a cool video. Anyways I was so shaken up afterwards I didn't know exactly what to do... just ended up biking away hearing that guys screams go on.... I was like okay Berlin, I didn't expect to see that one coming but allright... 🤔
Some other time, some people I didn't know called me over, I was biking and foolishly stopped. They asked me if I wanted to buy weed, I said 'no' but they somehow kept stalling me, asking a few times, asking random things and next thing I know there's like 4 more other people and they're like 'we want your bike.' Start throwing punches at me and all I can do is try and get on my bike but there's like 6 of them and can't get on or pedalling because they're all like punching me and shit. Thankfully after what seemed like an eternity of this, someone finally got out of their cars and helped me out. Cops were called and the police did a very awesome job of rounding them all up, with dogs and everything, I didn't get beat up very bad at all and my bike didn't get robbed so I was alright with that 😎
Both these events happened during the day... I guess the lesson here - beware the friendly and sometimes not-so friendly stranger... when you're riding a bike during the day! 😮
Oh my gooood! That was not a nice day for you!I had no idea Berlin is so dangerous, I guess you should always watch out everywhere you go just in case. The second story is terrible, thank god people and police helped! What's up with this bike fever??!Thank you for your comment!
Hey you're very welcome I forgot to thank you for your post, I was curious to hear how it turned out. While generally nothing happens, the thing is, you can never know what to expect anywhere yes, so it's good to be cautious and watch out and not put yourself into situations that can be dangerous. Sometimes it's hard to see that when it's happening though until after.
My friend said that she always goes jogging in that park an that nothing ever strange has happened to her(in Berlin) it didn't put me off the city at all I loved the place still... if you ever get a change defintely go there it's such a crazy city! However of course these types of things do tend to make a person more wary in general... thankfully for us these things don't happen often! If Ever! 🙂 and yes... bike fever! I guess some people are just really crazy about them! 😜
Thank you for reading!I wanted to share my story with people and tell all the girls and guys as well out there to be careful and be smart.I know there are bad situations happen to others in a daylight, very unexpectedly but sometimes we put ourselves in a dangerous situation by not being cautious enough. We should make everything in our power to avoid it;)
OMG! What a jerk. I'm glad all he wanted was a purse. It's always best to be careful. I'm uber careful. In fact, I've been known to walk in my house with groceries and my husband right behind me and he gets locked out! Poor guy. I'm always accidentally locking the door. And, I have a huge German Shephard mix that greets everyone at the door with a growl.
Hahahah 😂Poor guy,at least he doesn't have to worry much about you! that's good!Ive always been careful as well, and after the incident it's other level of carefulness for me hehe Aww,I love German Shephards, share a pic!
In the neigbourhood I grew up in Germany there lived many people from Kazakhstan, people called the place even Little Russia:) Unfortunately many of the young men brought the behaviour you mentioned with them, of course paired with alcohol. So there were streets, where people wouldn't walk at nights because they feared to get robbed. For one or another reason, I never had problems with these guys.
How come people from Kazakhstan were called "little Russia"?hahaha Were they mostly Russians?Happy to hear you didn't have any problems whatsoever there😉
Most of them were people with German ancestors, but the Germans in Germany still call them "Russland-Deutsche", which means Russian-Germans. I think they just don't know the difference between Russia and Kazakhstan:)))
realy nice bloge.re-steem.
Thanks;)
wlc.
Wow you were really lucky coz that could have had a bad ending.
True..
That is such a scary experience! Glad that both you and your cousin are safe.
Thank you, it's all fine now😊
Glad to know. 😊
yes I experienced that. I took martial arts classes afterwards and never got attacked again.
Hope you weren't harmed or anything.Good job on taking the martial art classes!Badass!😎
Sadly, there is no place in the world where we can be 100% safe. In my country, things are worse and here we are accustomed to value life more than material goods. Thanks to God, I have not been assaulted or occurred an event of this type, and the reason is that ... (no, I am not a hermit), every step I give, every person I see, I analyze and take my precautions. And very important, golden rule, unless you have a car, after 6 pm, it's better to be home.
Thank you for your comment;)I'm glad you haven't been in similar situation, good job on being careful! It's not nice that you can't walk down the street after 6pm.
Yes, it is so sad, but I do not worry, that does not take away the fun to my days ... although, I would like a lot: to be lying in anywhere at mid nigth with my friends, talking while we contemplate the sky and a few beers. ;)

I admit it wasn't smart, even if it was quite close!Girls should make smart choices and be more careful that's for sure;)
