Timothy C May wrote Cryptoanarchist Manifesto, a short text that points to the “specter” that now hangs over the world:

The search, through cryptography, for the freedom to communicate without being heard, to share without being regulated and to trade without a mafia institution, the State, being able to steal a percentage of the transaction (taxes).

The rest of the Cryptomicon, the document that contains the Cryptoanarchist Manifesto, does not add value or meet the expectations offered by its pompous name. Despite this, it is worth recognizing that T. May in 1997 elucidated the only path that can give freedom to the world. There is no other way out. Cryptoanarchism is born from this reality.

“Crypto” is for cryptography, the method used to hide a message from unwelcome readers. The message can carry, among other things, a text, a photo or a coin. The revolutionary power of cryptography is obvious.

<< Allows you to send a book without paying copyright; or send a currency without paying taxes; or converse without a third party listening; or share a photo with friends, and no one else. >>

The 'revolutionary power' is the force capable of making our outdated institutions finally crumble and fall in the decades of this century. However, crypto-anarchism is more than this, it keeps within itself a lock that would prevent power from 're-centralizing' (a dilemma and a risk that neither anarcho-capitalism nor mutualism, the two anarchist currents that I respect and that are of essential reading for any anarchist thinker, they have managed to solve) through the opening of information in certain cases (Blockchain) or cryptographic protection in others.

These are some of the cards that crypto-anarchism can play against centralized power and its modern institution: the State.

Blockchain technology. Distributed blockchains can be used in different ways, their famous initial application, Bitcoin, opened the world to cryptocurrencies. These allow citizen A to exchange with citizen B without the State stealing their share, and, most importantly, without A and B having to use the green tickets printed by the
Central Bank.

In addition to cryptocurrencies, the blockchain can replace and make transparent all State records. In Bitnation, it is proposed to save the Property Registry in a blockchain, relieving the Ministry of its "primary role" of writing down the name of the owner. Licenses, Permits and notarized documents could also be kept, completely disintegrating the bureaucratic apparatus.

Philosophy of Free Information and Open Source. It is known that programmers of all kinds advocate open and collaborative code. If this trend continues and grows in the production of software and hardware (see open hardware), the institutions that govern the world we live in would be on the verge of extinction. People could download the code for a weapon and 3D print it or build their own cell phones and computers. Or also collaborate in the construction of an online library; or in the development of an open-source 'Facebook' without NSA in the back door; or on a solid and secure platform that allows citizen C to lend money to citizen D, ending the life of the banks.

Privacy protection. . In a world where the state threatens to meddle in the life of the individual and turn reality into a panopticon prison, cryptography is the only defensive tool. Even if the blockchain is demonized and its applications hacked; and the open-source prohibited in favor of the patent mafias; and the Internet monitored and regulated, the man in search of freedom will always have the cryptography to break the silence.

In addition to its anarchist tools, cryptoanarchism includes an understanding of its own urgency. If it weren't for this, the movement would be reduced to a group of geeks without a north.

" The world is heading towards full connectivity. Things, computers and men blur their borders. The data is stored on the Internet and more and more, the human being reports his actions in the profile of this or that social network. Thus, with the passing of the decades, the Network will get closer to the Aleph".

Those who have access to the sum of the world's information will know all the actions, will be able to look at all the photos and listen to the conversations. At a minimum, they will be able to predict stock market movements and democratic outcomes.

Those who can regulate the Internet, which in the future will leave the Cloud and Augmented Reality will germinate in the world, will be able to configure society as they please. Although it sounds like science fiction, history threatens to lead to a Matrix. It is a quality of the crypto-anarchist to understand this risk. Not the mobsters of the Capitol and the NSA, nor the mobsters of u.

understanding all of this will guive you curiosity about the cyberpunk manifesto, let´s dive into it:

I.Cyberpunk

That's us, the different. Technology rats, swimming in the ocean of information. We are self-conscious, little school boys, sitting at the last desk, in the corner of the class. We are the teenager that everyone considers strange, we are studying infecting computer networks and hacking operating systems, exploring the depth of their extremes. We grew up in the park, sitting on a bench, laptop on our knees, programming the latest virtual reality. Ours is in the garage, stacked with electronic crap, the welded iron on the corner of the table, near the disassembled radio and behind the disassembled televisions. That's our thing, a room with buzzing computers, printers, network routers and modems running all the time. We are those who see reality differently, our point of view shows more than what ordinary people can see, what everyone ignores, the place that no one wants to look at. They only see the outside, but we see the inside. That's what we are, realists with dreamy glasses. We are those people almost unknown in the neighborhood, people given to their own thoughts, sitting day after day in front of the computer, plundering the network for something. We don't go out very often, just sometimes to go to university, to work repairing some things, to buy crap at the corner store... or just to take a walk and breathe some of the little fresh air that still exists and survives in the planet. We don't have many friends, only a few acquaintances from the Internet and whom we meet on certain occasions at someone's home and never publicly. Everyone else we know is on the net, on the other side of the line. We know them from our forums, blogs, favorite Internet channels and networks that we frequent. We are the ones who don't give a shit what others think of them, we don't care what we look like or what people say or think about us. Most of us live hidden, hidden in some alley, being unknown to everyone, except for those we really consider relevant and with whom we need to maintain constant and permanent contact. Others love popularity, they love fame. They are known in their populist celebrity world where they can make a lot of money by showing off, exposing themselves, selling their dignity and monopolizing human rights in order to turn it into a self-profit business. Their names are easily heard there. But all united we are a single force marching, a single energy in motion, an ideology or set of many different ideas fighting, we are the cyberpunks.

Society does not understand us, we are the "weird", the "insane" and the "crazy", just because we are more introverted, withdrawn and think differently from others? We are people outside the radar of the system, we are beings external to all the fanaticism, manipulation and control of governments, out of sight of normal people who live far from information, and whose brain is so contaminated by governments and everyday life of life and their perception and mentality are so manipulated by companies and governments that they have lost the ability to understand free ideas. Society mocks and rejects our way of thinking, dark and hidden communities living, thinking and breathing in a single way, creating their own topic. They despise us because we think freely, and free thinking is prohibited, it is a crime, an act of vandalism and youth terrorism that must be eradicated and suppressed. Cyberpunk has an external appearance, it lacks hierarchies, laws, norms, rules and leaders. Cyberpunks are people who start from the normal and know the same thing that everyone already knows, from the most insignificant tramp to the most powerful billionaire, but they look at it with different eyes, they have another perception, a very particular analytical reasoning, a way of seeing , understand, be and think very differently and with this they allow themselves to modify everything until they know its interior, its operation, its why, how and when in order to give them other uses that are very different from those predetermined by default. Cyberpunk is no longer a genre of literature, nor is it an ordinary subculture. Cyberpunk is itself a new order, a new movement led by parents and children of a new "cyber-age". A culture that unites all our common interests. We are united, we are one, a single force in constant movement, an energy fighting for one or many goals, some shared collectively and others private. We are the cyberpunks.

II. Society

The society that surrounds us is stuck in conservatism and "everything for a few, the elites have more power than never in the history. The human being was never so reducted to insignificance like those digital and cold days where everything is corrupted, A.I is controlled by pyschos and the world too at the end the people only matters to "survive, very relaxed and tend to be very confident with every new they consume or whatever add or social engine.

anyway still got feith on those who care about others and cultive empathy and intelligence and good health.
