I heard that this coming weekend is Labor Day Weekend. In hospitality, its one of the busiest times of the year. All of the clubs have special events and parties hosted by the top DJs. So everyone with time off and an itch to party hard decides to come to Las Vegas and live big. And because of the long weekend you can usually expect guests to party on Sunday night too since there is no need to get to work on Monday morning.
I have been so wrapped up in this project that I pretty much forgot about the long weekend and all of the people coming to town. I certainly won't be partying with them. Tomorrow and all through the weekend I'll be on campus trying to wrap up the MVP on our project. It would be ABSOLUTELY AWESOME if we could get the MVP done quickly and spend the next week doing things to give our project some pizzazz.
We aim to put the fun in functional components.
The react-google-maps library is still difficult to use but now we are able to plot start/end points. The current issue is being able to map waypoints, which is proving to be tricky since recompose and lifecycle don't allow for the easy use of array.map(). We also need to be able to pass props into modals, which provides the core functionality and connects actions to the database. Its the crossroads where the front-end, back-end and database all converge in a traffic jam of epic proportions.
This project has been fun, in spite of all the struggles. And I can hardly believe that there is a little over one week of coding left. The time has gone so quickly! I promised myself I'd take a look back through my old blog posts to relive the experience and hear about my problems building a hangman game (Ha!). But I'd really rather catch up on sleep since this coming weekend will be dedicated entirely to coding.
