Oh, that would be a place that I would definitely NOT visit when I would be in Taipei. I'm overwhelmed reading about all the services that they offer and being there would probably kill me, lol. But I agree that it must be the best place as you find everything under one roof.. I would definitely visit those cafes or restaurants though as I love Asian food! :)
I don't think that I have ever tried a massage from Taiwan but one day I had a Thai massage that was painful like hell. I had problems to hide my tears. It was so painful that then I got sick and spent a week in bed - not one of my best experiences :)
Thank you for sharing and congratulations on your curie vote! :)
Thanks for reading! I actually really like Thai massage. Their not as painful as a Taiwan massage and a Thai massage is like going to the chiropractor. They crack you back into the right places. Did you drink water after your massage? Your supposed to drink a lot of water because there's something about toxins being released in to your body when you re-align the joints.
We did the massage together with my husband - we were lying next to each other. What I didn't like was that those masseuses worked like machines. They had exactly same moves and rhythm. I was feeling like I was part of a production line. It was my husbands idea and I still blame him for it, lol. Oh, I don't remember if I drank water. It was very late in the evening so it's possible that I went straight to bed. But it's a good point and it could be the reason why I was feeling so sick afterwards... next time I'll be more careful :)
Hi @blorg, what a great description of a mall. Are you a local or were you on vacation? You mentioned branded products are more expensive, do you recommend to buy local ones? Does Taipei have a lot of issues with replica?
Thank you for the wonderful post I appreciate it :)
Thanks for reading! I decided to live in Taipei this year to try it out. So technically I'm a local. Yes, if you're from the United States, name brand products like Nike, Apple, Playstation tend to be 20-40% cheaper. There's something with the tarriffs in the U.S. that make it cheaper than other countries. I wanted to get some clothes, so I just buy non-branded local designs for around $4 USD. Otherwise a brand name shirts is like $30 USD.

hi @blorg
it's amazing how big this place is !! surely sooner or later you will find what you are looking for !! congratulations for the very detailed tuopost and for the beautiful photos. it makes me a little impression that it is underground. Is it a lot of people who spend their time there?
but how do you make a message with knives ?? !! did you try that?
congratulations on your curie vote and thanks for sharing with us
You got me with the list of things one can find there. The rest was torture for a poor oppressed-by-crappy-socialism soul.
It is amazing how some countries have been able to develop this kind of infrastructure and abundance of products, to such an extend that even in a relatively luxurious environment people can find cheap products.
Great post, very thorough
Ok you weren't joking about finding everything down there, man, you really find everything and really cheap, I think if you didn't show the knife massage picture I wouldn't believe it, this looks like a whole mile of fun, thanks for sharing!

Some great tips even if you just walk around and don't buy anything. I have never seen or heard of a knife massage before and would give that one a skip.
When I saw the shoe store, my eyes widened from the variety that exists there. God, there are too many things, a little bit of everything and I love it. I would like to go visit him...
Looks like the perfect place for everyone, regardless what you are looking for. It's so huge, I guess you get bored after a while or even lost if you're not paying attention.
What I would be interested is shoes and the restaurants, although I don't really like spicy and hot food. It's nice to know it exist, maybe one day I'll have the chance to visit the city and the mall too.
Wow, I would love to romp around that area with my camera!!
Great Post!
Thanks for reading! Taiwan is very affordable so you can make it happen!
Yes, I would really like to! What areas do you think are the most English friendly? :)
