It honestly comes down to an even playing field in my own opinion. I feel like bots will destroy steemit and its main goal but the only way to fix this is going to be to totally remove the ability all around.
What I mean by all around is there should be no auto voter that I can setup and auto vote steemians for any post they make in where I don't have to be logged in or even read the post it just auto votes up for me. To me this single thing totally destroys steemit and its main mission.
Then paying for auto votes seems unfair however most of these operate at a negative rewards in return as so many people use them. Its almost like paying for ad space is how I look at it now as it is a cost to do so and not a profit besides gaining exposure for the post.
Unless both of these are kicked out of the system and removed I feel they both should remain as anyone is capable of using them. However I do feel the damage the overall mission that steemit has.
I would love for people to engage by commenting of value and then voting their comments up and doing these types of valued actions are what should be rewarded instead of the auto pilot bot systems. Not being a programmer myself though I have no idea if that will be possible but if it is I would love to see this change in a upcoming fork/vote.
@bitcoinflood, what you are suggesting needs to exist on a code level, and it becomes extremely complicated problem of coding the ability to classify something as a bot and still be decentralized. thats part of the difficulty in everything, how can you create an environment, that is neutral by code?
Until then, you can only do as much as abiding by the original mission statement of steemit, which is to curate the best content, and create the best content you can.
