As I was motivated after my first blog to post about my trek experience by @blog-beginner , @pravesh0 and a few fellow Hivers.
!Blog 2 - # An Experience of lifetime TREK to TAIL-BAILA
As a Trekker and a Rock-Climber one always try to find a quest which is tougher then his prior experiences and is a challenging one. I being a trek lover has successfully summited 150+ forts and mountains in the Mighty Sahyadri Region.
All who haven't heard of the Sahyadris, let me enlighten you about it.
The Sahyadri Mountain range is also known as the Western Ghats is a mountain range that has an area in a stretch of 1,600 km parallel to the western coast of the Indian peninsula, traversing the states of Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu of INDIA. Thus I find myself quite lucky enough who was born near this beautiful mountain range and was fortunate enough to witness its mightiness.
As a Experienced trekker, I often take other people to trek as their Trek-Leader. So a month ago me and my buddy decided to trek TAIL-BAILA.
So we asked our respected friend circle who is interested to join us with it and a total of 12 people were ready and excited to climb this tough beauty.
As a Biker too. I often travel to the treks on my bike. So a combined fun of Bike Ride and Trek is what I get. So on the day of trek we left houses @ 5 A.M and we all moved on the roads by 5:30 in the morning and reached our base village by 9 A.M. and there was this huge beautiful pinnacles. We took a short break and started preparing and aligning our Technical Climbing Support stuff.
After the briefing of the Technical Support we moved forward and started our trek. A 15-20 mins of trekking a slight stiff patch. our first base of the pinnacle is seen and as we walked closer it is more majestic and HUGE!
Something like this👇
"IT IS THE MOUNTAINS, WHERE YOU REALISE HOW SMALL YOU ARE."
and that's what something excites me to climb them...
Took a moment here and won't lie a question popped in my head (Can this be summited successfully?😅) took a deep breath and said "I have came here to climb this. So Let's Do it." After few snaps we moved on forward to the starting point of the climb.
After a few more steps the temple of Lord Shiva comes and we take the blessing of the almighty.🕉🙏 and in front of it is this HUGE 200ft Pinnacle standing tall.👇
This a GRADE A difficulty level trek so one cannot summit it without technical support.
After the technical team sets the support and gives you go, then you start climbing a few friends of mine faced some difficulties but we cleared the first part well.
After the above patch you have to walk on the edge of the pinnacle which is around 160ft high and one wrong step you get a huge jerk from the safety harness which is attached to you. DEFINATELY ONE OF THE THRILLIEST WALK OF MY LIFE. which I am ready to take again😍. Then comes part to after the tiniest path for a walk there comes a cave to take breath but you cannot relax because the next part was literally breath-taking. let me show you guys!
As you can see a technical supporter up there. Yes we had to pass him up for the summit. But before that you see this few ropes they are attached on a 80 degree inclined patch of rock with the wind blowing against your side which are moving the rope with you when you are hanging on them😅. Unfortunately with me only three of my friends summited the trek successfully. So out of 12 only 4 summited successfully and with us there was a big group of 33 people in which only 1 summited successfully ,by the ratio you can imagine why the heading says An experience of a life-time.😄
After summiting a difficult trek successfully I had to take a special photo worth remembering. 👇
As you can see the weather started to change and it was starting to rain. So we decide to come down and reach the base as soon as possible because. if it starts pouring heavy we cannot Abseil as it will be almost impossible to grip the rope so we started BUCKET-DROP ABSEILING 200fts down.
The technicians gave the go and it was time to take the drop but all of us were hesitating at some level it was 200ft down.
As a Trek Lead I felt it should be me who goes down first and confide others.
As we abseiled down it successfully the weather started getting worse and worse, So we had to run down with all the equipment as soon as we can literally had to race with the rain😆 and the weather got worst.
And just like that the huge pinnacles that we just climbed was literally disappeared in clouds. This trek taught me a lot of things.
- We are nothing in front of nature.
- We Should always respect the mountains.
- We humans think we are supreme but mother nature knows how to teach us lessons.
- Be always fit and ready for every situation in life and NEVER GIVE UP!
Thus, Trek to TAIL-BAILA was an experience of a life-time.🙌
