Love and acceptance in a very basic illustration

in #blog3 years ago (edited)

While going through WhatsApp yesterday, I came across a beautiful story that I thought I'd share. This story resonates on a very different level with me because I'm a firm believer of prosperity through love and acceptance.

Here goes:

Once upon a time in a small town, a group of pigeons lived happily on the roof of a local shrine.

When the decoration of the shrine began for the town's annual festival, the pigeons had to move...luckily, they found a church⛪ not very far and decided to nest there. pexels-nikita-khandelwal-819806.jpg

The pigeons that lived at the church welcomed them and shared their homes with their new friends. Time passed and Christmas was fast approaching. The church started decorations to mark the period. All the pigeons had to move out to find a suitable place to live. They were fortunate to find a new place. This time it was a mosque🕌.

The pigeon population at the mosque accepted them and shared their homes. Time passed and it was a few days to Ramadan...the mosque got repainted and had other minor upgrades. The pigeons had to move again and this time they came back to the shrine. Time passed...

One day, a little pigeon and its mother witnessed a clash between the people below.
The little pigeon asked;
"Who are they mother?"
The mother replied;
"They're called human beings"
The little one asked;
"Why are they fighting amongst themselves?"
The mother responded;
"These human beings that go to the shrine are called idol worshippers, the once who go to the church are called Christians and the once that go to the mosque are called Muslims"
The little one asked;
"But why is it so?. Before we left the shrine, we were called pigeons. When were were at the church we were called pigeons, when we moved to the mosque, we were still called pigeons. Why can't they call themselves "Human beings" wherever they go?"
The mother smiled and replied;
"You and I and our pigeon friends have experienced God and that's why we live here, in a highly elevated place peacefully. These people are yet to experience God. It's why they fight amongst themselves and fail to realize that God is not a religion. Perhaps there'd be peace amongst them but it'll only happen if they stop with the labels and refer to themselves as HUMAN BEINGS ONLY.
THE END...

This is not just a religious content...it's more about our disconnection as human beings and the hate that prevails because of the many labels we've given ourselves. Nonetheless, I hope you guys enjoyed it and got the message I was trying to pass across...

Have a beautiful week ahead and stay sucker free 😉
