I hope my story would help other people
Part I
Everything started around 5:30pm, on a Wednesday, May 3rd. It was a dark night with power outage and 3% running out of my battery celphone which barely last a few seconds to call my doctor and my parents. (In Venezuela those days were taking the power off for 6 ours every day because there was not enough and we’re having a lot of problems).
I was laying in my bed and the water started to come out like if I was peeing myself , I remember to be wearing my pajamas and no idea what could I wear at the time. My husband celphone was already dead, he just run and brought me a sweater and my shoes, and then we get into the car and went to the clinic.
God, how bad is the situation in my country?
We arrived to the clinic and there were no beds available… Not even a chair to sit me down. And this clinic was supposed to be the only one with Neonatal therapy “available”. Well, that was what the doctor could assure us three days before when I was in my medical consultation.
Like a horror movie; that night was so long, without could found three incubators and respirators for my babies, and without a room for me either. They hardly found me a stretcher; I remember being more than four waiting for my doctor and the contractions were harder and harder. He finally shows up to confirm us a thing that we already knew, there was no space available for us. “This means that your babies do not have a chance to fight for them lives and even if they can, they are too small”..
Twenty eight weeks, what a selfish person that he do not even want us to go to another place, (another city) because it would not be him the doctor in charge. I appreciate and thanks to every people that they do what they can in earth to find those incubators, and give to my babies the chance to live.
To be continued..
