Consistency Being the Hack to Get Somewhere

in #blog2 days ago

It's one of those old pieces of wisdom revisited. I know consistency gets you somewhere but it's just knowledge without action for most people.

A lot of the growth happens in gradual and deliberate practice. Most would see a winner when they top the exams or at their peak career without minding the grind it took to even get there. You'll have more people recognizing you for the achievement but not during the grind where it's supposed to hurt.

I apply this concept with my sketches. A lot of the times, I just sketch and these pages will never get shitposted on social media (maybe someday they will but idk, I'm still in my training arc). There are plenty of days where I get no motivation despite wanting to be good at it but I want to keep building on this habit because of slow and steady improvement works. That also explains the inconsistencies in my art, it's all experimental~

TL:DR

Practice or keep doing something you should be doing even if it's just a few minutes a day with intensity. This means doing it even without the right mood or motivation. It will eventually compound and this gets you at the top 1%.

Shitposting this to remind myself why I bother checking excel, the market charts, the notes at school, and all other things in minutes without any glory to claim and the only reward is the grind.

Thanks for your time.
