Great questions...
- In practice, it's RAM. We tend to run our Steem nodes on 64GB RAM virtual machines.
- I'd prefer not to make estimates for them, but I'm confident they would rapidly get their ROI (within less than a year).
- Yes, Steemit Inc would be paying the $250K (at least under my proposal). And they can easily afford it, IMO. The layoffs were done to reduce their enormous burn rate, not because they were facing anything like imminent bankruptcy. Steemit is in a strong financial position right now, IMO.
Thanks for the response. And the savings would be shared by the witnesses too right(due to lower server requirements)?
Yes, it would allow witnesses to run cheaper nodes now and even more importantly, in the future, as Steem blockchain activity levels increase.
Great price IMO!
