RE: Registering your email with BlockTrades and how it benefits you

in #blocktrades6 years ago

Our only requirement to have an account on our system is to register with a valid email address so that we can be sure the customer is a unique entity and that we have a communication channel with that entity. So if a customer doesn't want us to know who they are, they can use an email address that is only very tenuously connected to their real-world identity.

But if you require proof of ownership, what would that be then?

We only require "proof of ownership" if you're looking to merge previously-made, unassociated transactions into your BlockTrades ledger, and this only requires you to prove that you have keys to the wallet that you are trying to associate. So while it does link an email address of your choosing to the account you're making transactions from, it does not actually tie these accounts to your real-world identity in any way.

If you are concerned about your privacy we welcome you to register multiple email addresses with us and keep a separate BlockTrades login for each of your cryptocurrency wallets.

Oh interesting. Ok thanks. 👍
