Great post thanks. Relative noobie to crypto here. Just wondering when you say - I will probably make that repo public in the next few weeks as well so that people can fork it, tweak it, and compete. Will this not devalue the coin? Excuse my naivety :)

Nah, what I mean by that comment is giving the BlockPay code to the world so that it can be copied (aka "forked"), modified to the forkers liking, and then used to compete with me. I know that sounds weird to some people, but this is world-changing software imo and needs to be spread far and wide if we are ever to free ourselves from the current fiat monetary system that we have been duped into.
Once I make the BlockPay repository (repo) public on my github page listed above then people can fork it. I would reeeeally like to see some businesses start using the BlockPay app first though... hint hint :)
The "coin" you are probably speaking of is just the BLOCKPAY token which can be bought and held, or traded on the Bitshares platform.
Hope that helps a bit @gdreyer and no worries, we were all a "noobie" at one point ;)
Thanks for the detailed explanation @kencode. So will any forks contain different coins? Like ETH and ETC? Or is this more of a soft fork and the only coin out there will be the Blockpay Token?
