We are happy to announce that Hargittay and Toth Law Office (Harglaw) executed the membership declarations of the Global Legal Blockchain Consortium (GLBC), and is joining this global network of more than 60 blockchain-savvy legal professionals worldwide.
As business lawyers we have been around blockchain and cryptocurrency projects for the last three years, and our firm strongly believes that blockchain technology is poised to bring significant developments to global legal relations. Already before the beginning of the current “Blockchain Age”, Ian Grigg introduced the term of Ricardian contracts in 1996, which means that the reformation of contracts as we lawyers know them is nothing new to the legal theory and profession.
The Global Legal Blockchain Consortium (GLBC) organizes and aligns global legal industry stakeholders to enhance the security, privacy, productivity, and interoperability of blockchain technology. Furthermore, the GLBC adopts policies that promote a universal blockchain-based technology infrastructure for law.
Hargittay and Toth Law Office is member of the Crypto Valley Association (Zug, Switzerland) the founder of the Hungarian Cryptocurrency Association, and has been advising blockchain and cryptocurrency startups for the previous years. The partners of our firm have been closely following the regulatory environment around cryptocurrencies, and they have just launched a startup under codename “DEALZ” that will enable the creation and recording of legal contracts on the blockchain.
We are proud to join GLBC, and we hope we will be able to contribute to the successful mission of this young organization.
