Well, i wouldnt exactly call myself an early adaptor nor futurist, but i am - and probably always will be - a very curious human being, who tries o keep up with recent developments.
Especially in times when essential rights and taken-for-granted freedom like "net neutrality" are under threat, i try to focus on mind-blowing and more positive movements. So today i read an article about approaches how to solve the scalability issues of Bitcoin.

Of course, in the cryptocurrency field there is a lot of scam and Bullshit out there as well. But to me the underlying idea, to cut out unnecessary middleman that become rich without really adding value, but just exploiting the dependency in inefficient systems and instead reward those who actually do the job is just fair. And just. and those are things that make my day.
The community around these technologies proves to me: if an idea is based on values and you got an ethical and genius idea how to involve the parties equally, value their work and time and create a fair system to distribute and pay those that actually do the work - is how you change the world.
Existing limitations, bugs or problems are perceived as something that challenges the community and is just another appealing call for action to get shit done and solved. It attracts the attention of the most talented and suitable brains, competing whos gonna be the first to come up with a solution.
when i read articles like the mentioned one, i imagine developers sitting somewhere, contemplating about solutions, having movies like Interstellar or items like folded samurai swords crossing their mind until the magic happens and they come up with the most efficient approaches.
If 1+1 adds up to more than 2 - thats the stuff i just l o v e. Because it shows the potential of human problem solving and transformative processes. ----> faith in humanity restored ;-)
Let's see where the cryptos lead us. When we're old and wrinkled we might know a little better.
yes, i agree. But blockchain as a concept will largely change the world as we know it - and this wont take long. well.. i have some wrinkles already, but it wont be until we´re old (like oldold 80yrs old ;-) )
