An excellent piece and no your are not alone with your crypto ecosystem there. In fact many are involved in this for the same reason you are. The internet, once a decentralized mechanism, ended up "siloed" off. Now we are under the control of the platform we operate upon (or the few different ones we use...google, apple, facebook, amazon).
