Robinhood's free crypto trade has registered the Ethereum Classic (ETC) digital currency, according to an official announcement on Monday, August 6 yesterday. Robinhood customers can also invest in Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), and Dogecoin (DOGE), as well as checking market data for ten other cryptocurrency.
Currently digital currencies are available in 19 US states, the Robinhood crypto trading application was launched in February 2018, which originally included Bitcoin and Ethereum, and is only available in four states. On July 12 Robinhood launched support for Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin, only a few days before the introduction of Dogecoin.
Robinhood initially only intended to operate a zero-cost business at break even basics and did not plan to profit from it in the future, and gave priority to expanding its customer base instead.
In May, Robinhood has raised $ 363 million in D series funding to expand its business, with an appraisal of $ 5.6 billion, and also a four-fold growth from the previous year. In late June, Robinhood is rumored to be considering launching their own cryptocurrency wallet after posting a job listing for crypto engineers.
The digital currency Ethereum Classic sees the biggest gain over the past 24 hours among the top 20 cryptocurrency based on market capitalization. The Altcoin digital currency is ranked 12th and trades at $ 18.34, up nearly 5 percent over a 24-hour period.
In June, ETC digital money surged 25 percent after the main US crypto exchange Coinbase announced it would register the ETC on its platform in the near future. Final testing for ETC support began last week, with an exchange announcing that Coinbase Pro will be ready for transfer into ETC
