I think that centralized social media as we have them today will at some point have to change their business model in order to keep up with the competition from decentralized social medias.Hello @fucho80,
Given the fact that social media flourishes on the theory of 'Network Effect', once these centralized social media platforms happens to include a form of financial incentive to their existing business model or modify it a little bit to make it seem more decentralized to their massive user base, I don't think others (decentralized social medias) stand a chance at competing because most of this massive user base are not 'tech heads' and will sure love to remain with their familiar networks.
Worst case scenario; these newly 'decentralized - centralized' social media platform will just drive their competitors into oblivion my manipulating their tokens at the open market.
However, these are just my thoughts based on the available data before me! We all look forward to the events as they unfold...
Best regards,
Toni
Hello friend @straigttalk, thank you for composing your opinion about the proposed topic.
Undoubtedly this will end up happening. However, these gosan social networks of an immense number of users who still get a lot of profit, so I think this will still take.
Take care and thank you for your contribution
