I will give here my point of view, my thoughts if you should create your own currency or not. Ofcourse everyone has his own opinion and thats why I want to post my opinion here.
I have been lately having some discussions with lot of ppl in Germany they are starting some projects with Blockchain and it seems that lot of them they really don't know how to start and if they need to go though blockchain or not.
First we need to ask ourself some questions, Blockchain can solve only specific business models.
it can not solve all kind of problems, so it is very important first to be sure if blockchain will match with our business concept. For instance, Blockchain is a database, but it is a kind of slow database with many missing features we do have in our relational DBMS. It is very important first to think about our business model by creating a use case or an example of it. Find a problem that requires decentralization, transparency, trustless property and start working.
Do you really need decentralization? decentralization vs. traditional DB. Make sure you need the Blockchain, before you invest a lot of money, time and resources. So start with why.
Second of all, understand the difference between token and coins, there is still lot of ppl they don't understand the differences between them.
You need good programmers who know what it means dapp and how to build it. Enhance ur customer loyalty and improve your business model. After that, you start thinking about the features and the digital assets, here I do suggest to understand more about Waves and MultiChain, Hyperledger fabric, Ethereum and be aware that you will need very important test management, the test part when you are doing blockchain and doing solidity programming is the most important and hard part, you need to test your programs lot of time and having 100% test covering, one little mistake in your code and you will lose all your money in your wallet because of some loops and some repeatable functions.
I will continue talk about this topic in coming posts.
Cheers
