Social Platforms, Enhanced Filters to identify Trolls and Annoying Users

Many of us have enjoyed the thrill of putting up a post that we took time in creating and then get shot down by some Troll who has nothing better to do than criticise, demoralize and devalue the post.

(Please Note: This is only an idea I am throwing out)

We can give thumbs up, thumbs down and even report users, so why cant we have a “Troll” button that tags a person as a Troll or Annoyance and accumulates with subsequent taggings until the system officially recognizes the user in question as a Troll.

Abuse of the button can also be coded in, so that people who suddenly receive an over abundance of Troll tags, wont be affected, but the people who did tag a poster as a Troll, will get a mark against them.

People who post can then set a filter to ignore or block Trolls.

Trolls can continue to post and the system can take that into account and start removing the “Troll” Tags until the system officially removes the Troll Tag on the user, who can then continue to be civil and completely ZERO out their Troll Tag, if they so choose.

This will keep the ideals of Free Speech alive, while also giving people a tool to avoid those who are just out to annoy, complain, troll or just hate on everything.

Of course this is just an idea and something that Platform Managers may take on board as part of the Social Platforms development
