Blockchain will be a bit like voice interfaces. Progress is very very slow then bang, it works.
Most people feel like voice interfaces have worked for ages but it wasn't until recently that they worked almost perfectly. We will feel like the blockchain has always worked and in a way it has. It's just the applications waiting to be built on top of it that we are waiting for.
