The Spanish consortium Alastria, integrated by more than 70 companies for the establishment of a blockchain multisectorial platform, announced the incorporation of E2K, the largest network of insurance brokers in the Iberian country.
Alastria, which launched in mid-October, has subsequently attracted other companies. The accession of E2K is significant since it is the largest network of insurance brokers in Spain, grouping around 150 signatures.
A dispatch from the EFE agency informs that for E2K, entering the first regulated national consortium based on blockchain -represented by Alastria- is an important milestone for the insurance sector because it guarantees the security and integrity of the data, as well as access and the transparent management of them.
The Alastria network, whose objective is to develop the distributed accounting technology through the exchange of data to accelerate the digital transformation, will allow the network of insurance brokers, through the ebroker brokerage platform, to take advantages such as creating new products and implementing smart contracts.
In Alastria, promoted by companies and institutions from different sectors such as Iberdrola, Telefonica, Cepsa, BBVA, Santander, Bankia, CaixaBank, Indra, Everis, IBM, Microsoft or RTVE, among others, insurers such as Allianz, AXA, Asisa, Mapfre also participate , Mutua Madrileña, Sanitas, SegurCaixa and Zurich.
The publication Capital Madrid affirms today that Alastria could go to the Stock Exchange to seek financing and that "it would be in the process of transforming its statutes in order to be able to quote on the Alternative Stock Market (MAB) as soon as possible".
Capital Madrid also reports that there is no unanimity within Alastria regarding this possibility and that another group favors the launch of an Initial Coin Offering (ICO), which would be more in line with the mission and vision of the project. . "Those who favor an ICO are convinced that the proposed creation of real value of Alastria with new functional protocols would raise millions of euros in a crowdfunding campaign to reinvest in new developments," says the publication.
