There is definitely room for disruption in the social media space. Big organizations like Facebook and Youtube take unfathomable amounts of credit from it's content creators.

The value of the platform is created by the creator but the creator takes no value from the platform.

Creators are giving away content in exchange for exposure. It works in some cases, but for most of us it's daylight robbery and our hard work is worthless.

We are being taken advantage of when it comes to privacy, copyright, royalties, plagiarism. We are generally getting a rotten deal online. Low-quality content is around every corner and visible content online is regulated.

There must be a better way to interact with the internet. We are the value! Centralized organizations tracking information and taking credit for everyone's hard work is ridiculous.

Blockchain technology is re-engineering peoples mindsets, it opens up new ideas to how the value should be distributed. Blockchain networks can decentralize platforms meaning everyone can get their fair share of value. In short 'Dapps'.

Blockchain technology is already disrupting industries by simplifying peer-to-peer transactions and cutting out middle men. This is precisely what might happen with social media. Open source blockchain networks running on mathematic algorithms to create fair decentralized platforms for content creators and audiences to interact. Both parties get a better experience.

Hubii Network is a great example of a blockchain allowing creators to take back control of their online assets. We will see more decentralized applications 'Dapps' like this in the future!

David Schlesinger, the Former Editor-In-Chief of Hubii Network said:

“The media industry is in turmoil, with traditional relationships between creators and distributors broken and standard measures of value unreliable. Blockchain, by disintermediating gatekeeper companies, can redefine the industry for the 21st century, put control in the hands of makers and users, and allow a true marketplace to establish value.”

Also, let's not forgot ground breaking platforms like Steemit! This blockchain does exactly that, rewarding creators in the form of cryptocurrency. No annoying ads, no cost for participating. Steemit is great competition.

The internet is fundamentally broken. It's the wild west when it's comes privacy, copyright, royalties, plagiarism, the list goes on. It's rigged against us and Facebook, youtube, twitter track, steal and sell our personal information every second we interact with anything on the internet. This is undermining our privacy and creating a mirror image of ourselves online. It's destroying the idea of an open source information network.

Blockchain can solve this, blockchain can store all your online information on a decentralized disrupted ledger which is hidden. You can then monetize certain information to specific individuals and organizations. It puts power back into the hands of the content creator.

Blockchain removes human intervention when storing information, it's decentralized. It stops corruption, manipulation and bad sale practices online. These advancements in online security and monetization are going to spark an explosion of new creative 'Dapps' in the near future.

Conventional social media, let's not lie, it's done amazing things. Connected millions of people together, made the world a better place and will always be recognized as the first real move forward on the internet.

The problem with Facebook, youtube, twitter is they don't reward their creators fairly and manage their information responsibly. People are wising up and looking for alternatives. Creators get small revenue from Youtube overlaying annoying ads. I'm not saying these corporations are evil and set out to give us a bad deal. I'm saying, conventional businesss practises (make a profit) have pushed them down the wrong road. They've forgotten why people use their sites. It's for good content, open information and to feel rewarded.

Blockchains are always fair because you control your participation and no one else controls your input. They run on fixed mathematical laws.

It's most likely just going to be a no brainer to move to more advanced blockchain technology when uploading content, you get your worth! Conventional social media just take your value and grow their organization.

Things are better when owned by the people. Blockchain technology is the biggest game changer so far on the internet.
