Bitcoin Core VS Bitcoin Cash - Jimmy Song interviews Roger Ver

in #blockchain7 years ago

Before watching Jimmy Song and Roger Ver duke it out, there was an interview between John Carvalho and Roger Ver where Roger lost it and stuck a finger in camera for the whole world to see. Talk about losing your shit. This will give you some idea on what they will be talking about in Jimmy Song's channel.

As soon as the interview was over, Roger Ver did make a video apologizing to everyone how he lost it and explained why he did what he did. I suggest you watch the entirety of the video and not just draw your conclusion just by looking at the thumbnails and comments.

The interview

Jimmy Song is a Bitcoin developer who are very bullish on Bitcoin and is the one doing the interview in his Youtube channel. You can watch the interview below.

Roger Ver is the guy who started the Bitcoin Cash movement causing Bitcoin to hardfork. The interview asks why Roger Ver wanted to make Bitcoin Cash. Roger goes on to say that the current Bitcoin is not what Satoshi Nakomoto, the creator of Bitcoin, had envisioned it to be.

Roger asked to do a demo showing the sole reason as to why Bitcoin Cash is a better alternative. He sent out $10 to both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash wallet. The transaction fees are so high for the Bitcoin wallet as oppose to the Bitcoin Cash, that sending a $10 worth of Bitcoin will cost you more than what you are sending. At the time of the demo, the fee was $15 for generating the Bitcoin transaction.

To someone who has been around the cryptocurrency for some time will already know this. But to those who have recently joined, obviously through Bitcoin, will not have any idea. Sooner or later they will find out.

Jimmy Song agrees that Bitcoin Cash is cheaper to be doing transaction at the moment. Then they went on about Economics side of things which I had really no idea about before watching this interview.

This is very compelling to watch because both are very bullish about their chosen coin. Jimmy Song obviously loves Bitcoin and Roger Ver loves his baby, Bitcoin Cash.

My thoughts

This is not about Roger Ver or Jimmy Song or John Carvalho. Shouldn't be about Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash either. There are so many problems in the world right now that arguing about which blockchain is faster, cheaper, better, is it a great store of value, best medium exchange.

It should be about the problems that the BLOCKCHAIN is trying to solve. For the new and old cryptocurrency lover, I suggest reading on the original Bitcoin whitepaper and find out as to why Satoshi Nakamoto created this revolution.

Doesn't matter if Bitcoin Cash or Bitcoin dies in the end. There are others that will replace them. And those are the ones that really are solving the problems and what is needed in our society.

Wow. An amazing battle.
I can hardly wait to see how fierce the battle for Bitcoin becomes.
The amount of off-shoot value from original BTC has become ridiculous.

It's sad to see why there has to be a battle, but the way things that are going on in Bitcoin, maybe it is needed. Why can't they see that the mempool is becoming so full, yet they don't want to increase the size limit? No profit for miners? Certain individuals sabotaging Bitcoin, reducing it's usability? The more I find out about Bitcoin and why it was created helped me decide on where my investment goes.
