July was an exciting month for the Dether team! We are fixing the last bugs regarding the exchange feature and the recent Ethereum network congestion; we’ve secured new partnerships with some of the most innovative blockchain projects in the space today; we wrote a series of exciting editorials; and, we’ve held and planned some new (and classic) contests. Keep reading to see what you missed out on!
Launch Update
We want to thank our community for their patience during this pre-launch period — we know that the wait has seemed, at times, very long, but we’ve received many messages of support and excitement from you all, and it’s what keeps us going through sleepless nights of app development and hours of brainstorming sessions for new content! Here’s the latest in technical updates:
-We’ve completed the integration of the AirSwap protocol into the exchange feature and just have to run a few last tests to validate it.
-We’ve conducted a series of user and security tests several times a week over the past month, that showed some minor back-end bugs, and most recently some issues with gas prices due to the Ethereum network congestion.
-We’ve integrated a user experience form in the settings to get feedback from users while launching the app.
-We’ve integrated Zendesk’s solution into the Dether app for resolving all potential support issues.
-We’ve integrated a blockchain-based data solution that will help the team keep track of all the data from the smart contract. As an example, the team will have a proper dashboard with the number of trades that happens every minute via the Dether protocol.
-We are continuing testing sessions of the app several times a week, and we will be releasing a development update very soon, as well as hosting a TechTalk AMA with Dether cofounder and developer, Mehdi Amari — so stay tuned!

Hamid was also at the PSG headquarters to discuss the future of cryptocurrency in football!
Partnerships and exchanges
We partnered with AirSwap to integrate DTH and ERC20 tokens in the Dether app
With AirSwap, we’ve made it easy for anyone to access DTH and ERC20 tokens
Our partnership with AirSwap, the decentralized token network, allows users to buy DTH on Dether.io and AirSwap.io using the AirSwap trading widget. Soon, with the release of the Dether app on mainnet, and the integration of AirSwap into the app, individuals will be able to become ERC20 token ATMs.
We partnered with FOAM to advance geospatial research
Together, we hope to further the standards for cryptospatial coordinates
FOAM develops geospatial protocols, standards and proof of location designed to empower users to build a consensus-driven map of the world that can be trusted for every application. With FOAM and Dether, the possibilities of advancing crypto-spatial research are endless. One important implication of our work together would be FOAM’s standards and protocols used within Dether for Shops, where users can look for a place to spend their cryptocurrency, and merchants can broadcast that they accept crypto.
The DTH token was listed on ForkDelta
In July, the DTH token was listed on ForkDelta, a project that shares our vision of dencentralization
At Dether, decentralization is a key focus of our mission: we’ve built the app as a PWA (progressive web app), we don’t take any fees on Dether trades, and there’s no middleman involved in the crypto-to-cash trade process. We are so happy to have been listed on ForkDelta in July, an exchange that shares our vision for a more decentralized world.
ForkDelta is a decentralized trading platform that lets you trade ether and Ethereum-based tokens directly with other users. ForkDelta (a fork of EtherDelta) offers many ERC20 tokens for trade, and is constantly adding more.

On the horizon
The community received some exciting updates in Penelope’s weekly marketing reports!
In July, our CMO extraordinaire, Penelope, launched a series of weekly marketing reports on the blog, to better update our community on our marketing efforts and new projects. In her first update, Penelope gave updates on securing interviews with key influencers, development, and new country targets. In her second update, she gave us a sneak peak at some upcoming AMAs…we can’t wait!
One of the key developments was the User FAQ Zendesk Support tool, a major support tool for app users who have questions on how to perform certain functions on the app. Zendesk will provide a very important hub for both customer service and search engine optimisation.
