I understand the downside and being the product, but what about all it can bring? I was able to go on a training course for free because someone tagged me in a post. I got a job because of facebook. Still a lot of concerts, exhibitions, flashmobs which take place in my city is there on facebook, I get notified about what is happening. All my friends are sending messages and we keep contact in an easy way. We are able to organize reunions and group events within a couple of minutes.
I personally more of a reader on the platform, every other month I post some classical music or share a post because a friend or a group needs some help... While I do agree that it has it's dark side, I don't think it is just evil, there are good and bad sides, but it can be used wisely and have a lot of benefits - but I do understand it is DESIGNED to be addictive and get information out of you and make you buy stuff and all that, that part could be really bad for someone who is not aware of all this and just goes with the flow.
