RE: Gravity IPFS: Off-chain Data Storage

in #blockchain7 years ago

@gravity-protocol @parsamov

It seems like a novel idea

  1. The data itself will be stored off-chain, in IPFS.
  2. Multi-versioning of the file (like git) is supported to allow the owner to change the content.
  3. Paid access control to content
  4. All members of the network will be given the opportunity to store Gravity IPFS data on their servers and devices, and will receive payment for this.

I have a few questions:

  • Is the history of the file checkable off-chain?
  • Can we access the original forever?
  • All members that store the data have to store the complete file history?
Sort:
  1. Yes, it checkable.
  2. Yes.
  3. No. Members can choose a volume of data.
