As we reflect back on our first full year live in the ticketing industry, we want to thank our returning event creators for making EventChain their platform of choice. Throughout the year targeting the high growth industries of live music, conferences, and the up and coming Esports sector, we have processed over a quarter of a million dollars in ticket sales and received great feedback regarding which features are priority in creating even more successful events. We’ve analyzed the feedback and set out a development timeline over the next 36 months that our team will be working as seen below.
Q1 2020 Hybrid Block Explorer — The Hybrid Explorer empowers event attendees to verify the authenticity of their tickets and view any limitations or restrictions put in place by the organizers or artists without any knowledge of blockchain technology. while securing the tickets on the blockchain is a feat of its own, providing a laymans version of the blockchain explorer to view these tickets and understand event information without having to decode all of the techincal jargon in a regular block explorer is needed for ticket purchasers who do not understand technology. This is a front end function available to all prospective ticket holders to verify the authenticity of their tickets after purchasing on the primary market, or before purchasing on a secondary market.
Ticket widget — allowing for event promoters to embed ticket buying directly on their website. V1 will direct the buyer to EventChain to complete the order payment. V2 would allow for the order processing to be completed on the organizer’s site. V2 depends on our ability to process payments through our own gateway.
Q2 2020 Esports tournament bracketing integration — providing ability for esports tournament organizers to create and monitor competition standings, manage player registration and ticket sales, all directly within EventChain’s application.
Enhanced Ticket Security — Beyond securing event tickets on the blockchain, organizers can choose to enable additional security measures including digital only tickets which cannot be printed or screen captured and SmartQR codes that are not generated until a predetermined time prior to the event start.
UX enhancements — Implement updated event page design and enhanced event creation wizard.
EventChain Payment Gateway — Organizers currently collect all ticketing funds, ticket revenue and EventChain’s ticket processing fees, directly through their own PayPal, Stripe, and CoinPayments.net (cryptocurrency) accounts. EventChain then invoices organizers for the ticket processing fees collected each month throughout the sale period. To streamline organizer onboarding, EventChain will provide its own payment gateway. This will be followed by a fully embedded ticket selling widget, apply for an integration with Facebook and Instagram Event Tickets and resale marketplace.
Streaming and on demand video support — Through a partnership, EventChain will offer event producers integrated features to sell access to live streamed and on demand content for their events. This provides an additional source of revenue to event creators through paid content delivery.
Q3 2020 Resale Marketplace — Attendees are able to resell their tickets on EventChain’s own resale marketplace. Event Organizers retain control of their ticket inventory on the resale marketplace, being able to place restrictions or limitations on the tickets if they wish, including allowing an open resale market, restricting ticket markups, enforcing a face value market and deriving resale commissions on resold tickets.
Reserved Seating — EventChain’s system will support both general admission ticketing and reserved seating with interactive maps that can support multiple pricing tiers to accommodate venues of all shapes and sizes. We have identified several interactive seat map providers to leverage for the task.
Dedicated Attendee iOS and Android Apps — The mobile apps provide additional marketing exposure through the app stores. The native apps provide a more seamless customer experience from mobile devices, facilitate attendee engagement, additional marketing opportunities, tracking and security.
Q4 2020 3rd Party integrations — including business intelligence tools, cashless systems such as RFID bracelets, touch-less payments and tracking beacons. These integrations provide additional data to event organizers on the purchasing habits and behavior of attendees. With tools analyzing this data, organizers can provide a better customer experience for guests and sell more tickets.
Engagement, Incentivization and Gamification — Event creators, brokers and attendees are rewarded for maintaining a positive reputation on the platform and for contributing to the engagement of event content. Reputation value is accrued and can provide additional benefits inside of the EventChain platform and integrate EventChain Tokens.
Q1 2021 Authorized Seller Program — Organizers can assign blocks of tickets to authorized brokers to expand ticket sales distribution to increase sales in addition to their event page on EventChain.
XR Ticketing Experience — EventChain will provide a Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality experience to allow for event ticket purchase in XR as well as allow for promoters to enhance and gamify event marketing.
Q2 2021 Public EventChain API — will allow legacy ticketing systems to easily offer Blockchain Secured SmartTickets and access to the resale marketplace where attendees can buy and sell blockchain secured tickets. Organizers retain control of ticket resale limits and markups at all points of ticket distribution.
We look forward to realizing this roadmap and delivering the functionality needed to ticket the highest caliber of events internationally, enabling event creators the utmost control over their events so they can best serve their attendees.
