Getting Whale Attention: One View Can Change Everything

pexels_photo_2

It still surprises me how people think that they are bigger than they really are.

I hear Steemians ask," well how do i get on the trending page?" or "How do i get Whales to always vote on my posts?"

Most times my reply to that question is "One is Greater than Zero"

If you want to achieve anything great in Life, then you have to be patient and work hard, whether you are like @lexikon082 who is trying to fight an addiction, or you are a App developer wanting to make the next big thing

The philosophy behind "One is Greater than Zero" is simply a call to action to do. It is understanding how One View is greater than Zero and how humility and patience is the foundation for your success on this platform

The time it will take you to gain the reach and views you desire is often days and weeks of hardwork, It is the little things you do along the way that would add up to something great

So before you get a view and a comment from @ned and @dantheman you will have to get 1000 comments from your fellow Minnows or Dolphins. You need to put in the work

People are always messaging me like " You interviews are popular and you have interviewed Steemians like @papa-pepper and @instructor2121 and you have gained 300+ followers within one month. How did you do that?

And i am like, I also wrote posts and did Interviews that got only 10 views, but i was still patient and did not spend my precious time online going round Steemit and Steemit Chat whining about how unfair the system was or how Whales were too powerful

And about my blog growth, maybe it is because i have been engaging with other Steemians the right way, or it is because i have been running a contest to support new Steemians for 16 weeks now with my own earnings, it must definately be because i write good and useful content on my blog

Well that is how i am building my blog. Remember i started with Zero followers too

The summary of what i am telling you is that One is always Greater than Zero. It is better to get one View than Zero because you are waiting for that "big break". Nothing happens overnight

I mean seriously, No one knows who you are, you are still trying to grow your blog and your brand, be open to suggestions connect with others, you must not post everyday, read other people's post and leave valuable comments

While i was still targeting to make $100 on a post my Rainmaker's Interview with @good-karma got me a total of $778. Why?, it was because i brought him value and he ended up resteeming the two interviews

I did so many $0.90, $1.75 and $2.60 posts day in day out. It is part of the keys to my success

It is the patience and willingness to write over 1500 posts/comments that bring value to the other person and not just spend the time begging for followers

I promise you every valuable post you will bring you value down the line even if the post itself did not make you much Money

It may bring you returns from another channel you did not expect, @dawidrams in his last post explained how he made $14000 from a post that made him only $3.5 here on Steemit

I promise you that any good action you take counts, it is about having humility and Patience, it is also about not saying no to others who need your help even after you have made it

You may finally catch the attention of that Whale who has 5000 followers and he/she may end up resteeming your posts, giving you all the views and followers you want

The One Is Greater than Zero Philosophy is something I am really proud of and would continue to execute

Are you willing to provide value and be patient?

At the end of the day, it still takes hard work.

You write with a patience and fortitude that is calming @ogochukwu. Your experience on Steemit permeates this entire article.

The phrase "One is Greater than Zero" is brilliant - a simple truth that anyone can grasp and quickly apply. Superb work!

Thank you Sir for your constant words of encouragement.

I believe that the steemit game is that of Chess not Checkers.

Remain Blessed.

@ogochukwu

Thanks I'm just getting started here and can use the advise. Upvoted and followed!

Thanks for reading and being open to advice @libertyteeth.

Upvoted.

@ogochukwu

This is exactly the path I am following. I appreciate every single one of my followers, and know that as long as I keep hustling, engaging with the community and working to make sure I have quality content my time will come. Society has engrained in us that everything should be easy and come quickly, that success through hard work isn't real success. I contend that success through hard work and perseverance through the hard days (low payouts) is the only real success that exists.

Hello @mk40

Thank you for reading and taking to the time to drop your thoughts.

Like i said before the Steemit game is that of Chess not checkers.

Have a blessed day.

@ogochukwu

This is true...you said it best when you talked about building your brand. This isn't a get rich quick thing, it takes time.

Just went through your blog and saw that you are following the resteeming principle.

I just became your 282nd Follower.

@ogochukwu

Thanks so much! Every follower counts...never know who is going to give you that one big vote or resteem that grows your brand.

Incredible read.
To anyone reading who's not convinced -
I spent a week studying the platform and the audience on here before writing a value packed article for my introduction post yesterday.
it was my first day on the platform.
I gained +100 followers in a day and my post engagement was nuts.

If you add value first, rewards will DEFINITELY follow.

Upvoted, resteeming and following man.

Thanks @nickytothenines

You reaped the reward of following principles.

Followed You

@ogochukwu

100% @ogochukwu. Thanks for sharing! It's really all about having the guts to say you will dedicate your time in building your passion whether it be steem or other avenues.

In fact, great things take time and patience. Consistency is also important. I believe it's better to have a few followers who actually read your content and support than a ton who just let it pass by.
Thanks for the post, as a new steemian I will keep this in mind

Its SO interesting this whole concept. It makes me wonder if it's just luck or skill, or Karma as to whether someone becomes known and seen!

Hello @eco-alex

It takes Hardwork and Patience

@ogochukwu

Yes im SURE.. i think basically you just have to follow your passion and spread that.. That way it's kind of effortless and fun .. I think if you are just trying to be popular without having a purpose it is quite a soulless and really boring!

I've send you a tip =)

Its all about providing value and being patient.

However .

I do have a question for you, What made you continue the contest after the 1st time?

I knew that providing help and Value will bring me returns down the line.

Basic Law Of Karma

@ogochukwu

Everyone starts somewhere. I like the fact that Steemit is not a get rich quick type platform, as it is the very thing that kills a lot of 'pay for content' type platforms. Blockchain to me is about freedom, not material obsession.

Hello @kreativ

Thank you for reading and sharing your views.

@ogochukwu

Wow really a great read, well worth my time. I always try to follow the principle of hard work and consistency is the key to success in many things.
I aspire to grow my account to a level where I can start contributing and investing back into the Steemit community as well. Definitely earned a follow from me.

Hello @concept

Growing your account to the level you want is not impossible.

And you can start contributing and Investing in steemit from day one.

I describe myself as a Steemit investor in my other Social Media Channels. Why?, because i spend a huge chunk of my time daily on Steemit.

Time is Money.

@ogochukwu

Thanks for the solid advice. I have just started Steemit recently after finding out about it from @dwinblood who linked to one of my Clarity of Signal Wordpress posts and am glad to finally have a place where censorship isn't taking place and where civility is rewarded. I'm inspired by posts like yours because they present so much optimism if one simply follows the right approach. My primary focus is geopolitics and I hope to help people see beyond red team versus blue team divisiveness so that we can work together to stop war and make the world a better place. Here's my intro post that didn't gain much Steem but I have faith that if I continue to slowly but surely upload quality material then the sun will shine through.

Personally, I'd love to see Steemit highly renowned for its geopolitical content that goes above and beyond the MSM's now corrupted approach to global matters, particularly war.

Here's a link to my site and what I do. I hope your find it a helpful and valuable resource.

Here's dwinblood post that led me here:

https://steemit.com/benswann/@dwinblood/ben-swann-update-i-found-a-website-that-is-pretty-thorough-at-this-pursuit

And yes, I am spreading the word far and wide about Steemit. I definitely see it as the way of the future that encourages quality in all areas of Internet posting.

Hello @clarityofsignal

Joining Steemit will be one of the best decisions you ever made.

It is not all about the Money right now, it is about creating an Influence for yourself early on and projecting yourself as a person of value.

Bitcoin started at Cents. Imagine what happens in some years time when Steem hits $2000.

Some people are whining and complaning now, because they are thinking 2017, 2018. 2019.

I am thinking about this for Life.

Thanks for dropping by and your insights. Steem On.

@ogochukwu

Hey, great post by the way! Thank you @ogochukwu!

Great post! Really points out how being genuine and working hard is the way to succeed on SteemIt just like it is when you move into a new town, or start a new job...no shortcuts

Well said my man! Pretty much pick just 1 of those points you made and go with it. You'll start seeing results. 1 is greater than 0 for sure.
