10 Magnetic Headlines:

in #blo7 years ago (edited)

It’s not what you write about. It’s how you write it and the dynamics of the headlines you think up.

1: Headlines with a curious touch:

If you think about newspaper headline boards posted in the streets and how they grip you attention, you’ll transform your headlines of your blogs.

`Curiosity-killed-the-cat’ as the saying goes. Headlines with intriguing suggestions trend to purposely leave out missing facts that that poses a question. Entices you to buy the paper in the hopes you’ll find out the answer to the insinuated posed headline.

2: Headlines with Visionary Power:

The way they are written sirs a vision of what has happened. The mind is a powerful thing, and in this case a powerful tool to use in your blogs.

Descriptive words written the right way, can stir images in the mind’s eye. Consider how you read books and how your mind `sees’ what’s happening in the story. Words can travel far and a long way, once the mind has caught the vision and runs with it.

3: Active Headlines:

Headlines with doing-words, ie action packed verbs that grip people’s attention. On the other hand, long sentences are too slow and look bulky to read.  People become bored and quickly switch off by the thought of working through all that.

4: Headlines with emotional adjectives:

Words that have power to stir people’s senses and feelings, gives them a heartfelt motive to take action! Or stir empathy according to the dire situation.

5: Compelling Headlines:

Positive words that suggest hope and constructive help! This type of blog is based on fact and a testimony based on personal experience.

6: Influential Headlines:

How to benefit from and achieve something! Perhaps a longed for desire, like how to get rich quickly! Tips and secrets on becoming a billionaire, etc!

7: Headlines with an irresistible promise:

You can get something if you follow a process or do something. If you do this, you get that. Example: If you buy one, you get one free. The ultimate goal for example is: a free download, prize or luxury trip, etc.

8: Headlines with a time limit:

You can achieve something in a short time or perhaps in a few days.  One minute to success: ”It only takes a minute to…, etc.”

9: Dramatic Headlines:

Headlines that suggest a drama: A sudden scary event that could involve anyone, anytime. Perhaps, an exciting adventure, or how a plane crashed in some high snow-capped mountains, etc.

10: Fantasy Headlines:

Things shrouded in magical and supernatural stuff. Example: The mystery of a haunted castle

Sort:

i prefer articles with dramatic headline or those with a curious touch, those are the ones that capture my attention

I think headline should be exclusive and summarize your article. It should have some mind blowing content to attract the readers.

It is proved that the orange color with the combination of blue, very well remembered by the eyes of people. I think the magnetic headline should be this color.

Nice post.

Attractive headline always give you better.
i have an idea if u use 'hey' word that will be more attractive.

Like: Hey there, look here!
Love your suggestion :D

Great tips. One with a call to action could also work.

Yes, we included that with active doing words, eg: using verbs in your titles.

No headlines !!! Is the best best headlines !!

I think you have said all the important headlines already. I have really benefited from reading this. Thanks for sharing. You must really be a good writer.

I would add that it is important to write concrete data (figures, percentages, etc.) in the headline.

The concrete data reveals a well-documented article. That's why it's good that the data presented in the headline is realistic and justifiable. It is assumed that if you have such statistical data, you know many other things in the field.

In one of my previous blogs we touched on numbers. As you can see I used a number in the headline of this blog!

Thanks for an insightful look into creating a great title, I believe you want to grab your readers attention, especially with the amount of posts constantly being added, the worse thing is I see some titles that are more paragraphs then titles lol

Needed this! I always love looking for creative ways to come up with headlines. Thank you for this post.
