Once you are familiar with blender, it's actually quite simple. But it takes quite a while to get there.

That's pretty cool! I'll have to check out Blender. I've used Gimp a couple times. I don't like it as much as the giant it emulates, but it's pretty decent and scores extra points for being open source.
