Technically OL Gateway could register the tokens for its holders, then distribute the native tokens accordingly. But they would need to plan for this. That said, there is a fallback (pending, unproven), but I doubt they would want to export their gateway's ethereum private key to exercise the fallback (unless they use a unique ETH address for each ETH token)
