As you probably know by now BTS and STEEM are based on same system - the graphene and if you check the technology they are very alike.
I have dug into historical prices of both currencies so you can see how one took place of another and how it was.
Both currencies have different purposes so do not think of this as a price fight - rather as interesting data to browse.
Hope you will like it.

Conclusion
Price is not everything that matters. Both ecosystems at this point have different goals so we cannot say one is superior. Ie BTS is running decentralized exchange on the system (ie as OpenLedger), if 0.1 BTS was worth 1 USD - the system would collapse at this point.
Of course if BTS jumped in price all fees could be adjusted but at this point the currency is programmed to not be worth alot since every action on exchange costs 0.1 or 0.3 BTS - if it was 30 cents it wouldnt be good.
On the other hand the bigger price of STEEM the more every vote is worth so its natural that price of STEEM should always be above BTS for both systems to make sense.
Quite the trip down memory lane...
Nothin' like cryptocurrency to make one year ago seem like the distant past!
Yeah it was great fun making this post indeed!
Now, compare how many transactions Bitcoin, Steem, and BitShares have been processing per unit time compared to the also-ran 600. :)
