CEO of Autonomous Partners warned of the risks of Bitcoin maximalism

CEO of the space-oriented blockchain and cryptocurrency fund Autonomous Partners Arianna Simpson believes that the total rejection of alternative digital assets in favor of Bitcoin may not be the most optimal strategy.

The expectation that this will continue forever (or that keeping Bitcoin is the right thing to do) seems silly to me.

In terms of relative growth, this year's Bitcoin is indeed one of the most successful assets in the top 100, yielding only to alto-koin, such as Chainlink, Binance Coin, Ren and Huobi Token. Others grew in dollars, but lost to Bitcoin. Ethereum and XRP, for example, are still trading at 80% below their historical highs. Analysts like Peter Brandt draw a parallel between the events in the market of cryptocurrencies and the collapse of the dotcom bubble in the early 2000s.

Simpson does not share their opinion.

"Those who have been in this space for many years should remember that this is by no means the first fluctuation back and forth - in 2017, Bitcoin suddenly became old news against the background of shining new technologies of the first level, which were going to capture the world, - says Simpson. - In fact, for many ETHs, it turned out to be a better investment than the BTC (even with the correction in 2018!). Of course, Bitcoin remains king, but it's stupid to write off everything else.

Earlier, Placeholder VC's partner Christopher Berniske expressed the view that Ethereum may now be in the same position as Bitcoin was in 2015 and has a good chance of replicating the growth of the leading cryptocurrency over the next two years.
